Make sure you are not over filling the washer, when my mother in-law does the laundry, it ends in a tangled mess. However when I wash them, no problem I shake the clothes out before I put them in and I try not to overload the washer.

Check the belt and motor brushes. Belt may have come off or snapped and if motor brushes are getting worn they may not be making enough contact in the motor to make it agitate.
Does it click when closing the lid ? Sometimes , the lid switch arm , will work inserting something into it , but not with the lid closed . Try checking it using the lid itself . Occasionally , the arm wears to where it has to be pushed farther down to work so the actuator on the lid cannot push it far enough down . Have to replace the lid switch for it to work properly or bypass the lid switch from under the console .
This washer uses a electric pump. Strings and coins can easily stop the small inpeller. The pump comes apart for cleang. You must remove the front panel by inserting a putty knife in the tp and using downward force the front will come off. Pull the panel towards you and simplely lift it off the bottom mount. You can now inspect that pump. Lower the drain ose into a bucket to allow as much gravity flowing water to get out before you remove the pump housing. Just unlock the tab and twist apart the pump to get the strings and such out. Have rags ready. LOL

The first thing to always try is disconnecting it from the mains plug overnight. Then in the morning press and hold the power button for 60 seconds. Then plug it back in. The is a Power Reset on a machine that has an electronic mainboard.
Does water enter the machine? My guess is that the water inlet valve may have failed. It waits, no water comes, so it times out. There are a few things to check there, make sure there is water in the pipe, make sure the strainer screens are clear in the hose connecter on the back of the machine.
