Dryer not turning on.........before I would change the timer setting and it would would work.......after a couple of weeks, when i change the timer setting it wouldn't turn on at all. Question is

Definitely sounds like a timer problem. Sears Parts Direct should have your part. The model # you supplied is incomplete to determine if you have a gas or electric dryer. Check the model # again and go to Sears page to find the correct part.

DRYER TAKES ALONG TIME TO DRY A LOAD OF CLOTHES IT

You may have a blower which is not circulating enough air flow. You can have heat and no blockage but a blower whcih is not moving enough air to distribute the heat and displace the moisture filled heat to the exterior.

When it first starts up it squels for a while,

There is a small plastic T-Bearing at the rear/center of the drum that often wears that could cause the noise.
Easy to replace, but be sure to add a little grease to it before putting drum back in.
At times it could also be the front drum glides,or even the plastic Idler wheel.

Look closely at them all when you have the drum out.

All these parts are relatively cheap to purchase.

Wigo.

A few days ago our tumble dryer begun to make a

that could be anything you just have to unplug the dryer and get in there and see what happened, the belt pulley could have failed and jamming up the belt, first off does the dryer start?if so and the drum isn't spinning then the belt could be broke but this says it's a g.e. dryer so this has a safety switch in it that won't let the dryer run if the belt breaks, also g.e. has a rear bearing that fails, did you hear any sounds before like metal on metal, this could be alot of things, there's a front bulkhead with glides on it,i've seen the drum cut through the front of the dryer before, if you write back send the brand name and model number and anything else you heard before or take it apart and see what's up.if the dryer has alot going on with it don't buy another g.e. dryer get a whirlpool.

Indesit is70c ..the dryer heats up but does not dry the clothes

Hi Kristina. Try cleaning out your dryer vent line. Depending on how it's installed, sometimes it can get clogged at the discharge screen outside or if the line is draped under a house or a mobile home.It can develope a belly or multiple bellies depending how it was installed. These will trap the humid air discharge coming from the dryer and the condensation will accumulate in the line restricting the discharge air and tripping the safety limit switches. you can use a shop vac to clean the line but be careful,if the vent is old it can become brittle and crack easily. If the line is in question I recommend placing the hose on the discharge side of the vacuum and blow it through. It may make a little mess but far easier then replacing the line or worse the dryer.
