Mine did the same thing where the screen would go black for a few seconds and then the picture and sound came back. I would try (1) switch HDMI cables, (2) try a different HDMI input in the back of the receiver, (3) try different input in the back of the TV. None of these seemed to work with mine. I finally ended up running the cable box direct to the TV and only run the audio through the reciever via coax or digital. No more problems. I think the HDMI inputs in the back of the reciever have a problem continuously carrying the signal if it is the leaset bit weak.

DTS-HDMA and Dolby TrueHD cannot be passed to your receiver via bitstream on the PS3. DTS-HDMA cannot be decoded either so you're out of luck there.
Dolby TrueHD can be decoded internally on the PS3 assuming your firmware is up to date. Set the Blu-ray HDMI output to PCM and you can then pass it to your receiver.
If this doesnt work, do a system update on your PS3.

The Kube Sub-woofer is earthed via its 3 pin plug. The Onkyo and other components I have in my system are not (they are double insulated). During normal operation, a difference in electrical potential can exist between these components in the system. I found that this potential was finding a path to earth via the audio cable and on through the subwoofer's earth. The path was via the earth portion of the audio cable and so gave the hum irrespective of volume levels set either on the Onkyo or the sub.

The fix is to ground the Onkyo to the sub. I used a length of electrical cable between a panel mounting screw on the back of the sub and a screw on the casing at the rear of the Onkyo. Try it out with a piece of cable manually touching screws with the bare ends of the cable until you find ones that give continuity( the hum will go immediately). I then crimped a small fork end electrical fitting onto each end of the cable which can be slid under the slighly loosened screw head and resecured. All I hear now is the fan on the Blu-Ray player!

main board fault, its input feed on the board might be failing, it could also be a failing capacitor, you would need to open it up to have a look and see if there are any capacitors failing.

Hello, I am sorry about your issue. Did you make any changes to the output resolution on the Wii. The output must be at 480i for the receiver to up-convert to HDMI. If there is a problem with the receiver I suggest a work around by connecting the component [red,blue,green] video outputs to the TV and the audio connections [red, white] to the receiver. If you can't resolve the issue yourself, try resettingthe AV receiver before contacting your Onkyo dealer.To reset the AV receiver to its factory defaults,turn it on and, while holding down the [VCR/DVR]button, press the [ON/STANDBY] button. "Clear"will appear on the display and the AV receiver willenter Standby mode.Note that resetting the AV receiver will delete yourradio presets and custom settings.

Hi AB, best way to accomplish this would be to go from the TV's audio output to any open audio input on the 606 and just be sure that you assign the source to the input.
