White spots on the screen are generally caused by a bad DMD chip.Multiple elements of the chip remain continuously on causing these spots.Solution is replacement of DMD chip.Samr
There's a heat sensor inside the projector which will turn it off if it senses overheating of the bulb. Be sure the air vents are not blocked - there needs to be free air flow. Intake is on the right, exhaust is on the left. An aging bulb can also cause overheat, or the sensor could be faulty.
I expect the lamp life is about to expire. Check your instruction book to clarify the situation. If you haven't got one, go to the BenQ web site to down load one. Hope this helps.
