Your headset may be muted. Try to unmute the call. The mute function is enabled through the volume buttons. Simply tap both volume buttons at the same time until you hear a mute tone. The mute tone when unmuting the call will be a descending tone. When you tap both volume buttons, if you hear a descending tone you have just disabled the mute function and your problem is solved. If the mute tone is ascending tones you have just enable the mute function and this was not the issue. If this is the case consult your user manual or contact Motorola for trouble shooting.

To put your headset again in pairing mode, you must assure that your phone's bluetooth radio is turned off. Only then, open your headset's boom. After it is in pairing mode, turn your phone's bluetooth radio on, and make it search for new devices.
Hope it works for you.

How do I turn up the volume?
The volume keys are the silver keys on the top and bottom. Simply push the volume up button to adjust the volume If you are not sure which button is volume up, or simply want to change which is which, you can change the button orientation.
Here's how:
-Close the boom to turn the headset off.
-Press and hold down the desired "volume up" button and open the boom. Keep the button pressed until the indicator light flashes blue three times.
If you just want to see the user's manual it's here...

The fault is possible in the headset and you will need to check on the mic section. Check on the mic inlet for any block due to dirt accumulating , thereby blocking the passage of sound. Use a good soft fibre for cleaning and clearing the passage. If this wont help you will need to open the head set and ceck on the mic. Use a signal test on the mic to get a response on the answering phone. If so the mic is the main culprit. replace and proceed, However if the fault stays still, it could be the failure of the mic amp, try to solder this area and test. Hope this works for you. Good day

Please check the mic using a recording feature (if sound recorder is built-in). If it works, or at least you can hear faint sound, clean the mic opening and try again. If you the recording isn't working with the mic, there's no "do-it-yourself" possibilities, (if you have idea on how to repair a mobile phone, you can try after purchasing a new mic replacement) you'll need to take it to a mobile repairing shop and get it repaired. They will replace the mic for you and will charge you for the new mic and for the service.
Good luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.

This is probably a common issue for H710 Headset. Try to delete the pairing and redetect the headset again. If you want to further test the problem. Try using another bluetooth phone and pair the headset to that phone. If you will be getting the same problem, then that could be a headset problem. Otherewise, if you dont experience this issue using other phone. Then, there could be a problem in your phone's bluetooth radio.
