How do I take the lock button off a Sony DVD without remote

GET THE USER MANUAL OR SERVICE MANUAL AND SEE THAT THAT MEANS. IT CAN BE, 12VDC TO THE (POWER) IS BAD 12VDC AND GROUND OR (seems to me NOT POWER) CAN mean one of speakers failing like this.(this) 1: shorted speaker, (CALLED VOICE COIL SHORTS 2: shorted speaker WIRES, to shorted to car body ground. 3 using wrong speaker if 2ohms is not allowed but 4-8ohms is allowed. or putting 2x 4 ohm speakers in parallel fails. as it will;./ 4: amp is bad.(in the head end) page 62 in your manual states If the power is not turned on ("Miswiring DC Offset Error", "Warning DC Offset Error" is displayed), the speaker wire may have a short circuit or have touched the chassis of the vehicle and the protection function may have been activated. Therefore, the speaker wire should be checked THE REAL MEANING, (ME TOLD) IS ONE OF THE SPEAKER PRESENTS A OVERLOAD TO ANY AMP OUTPUT CHANNEL. TO FIND THISONE MUST DISCONNECT SPEAKERS TO FIND IT. YES SPEAKERS AND WIRES CAN SHORT. A TECH EVEN TRIES TEST SPEAKER 1 AT TIME TO PROVE THIS. IF ALL TESTS FAIL THE AMP IS BAD.

Indash DVD units are programmed not to allow DVD's to play while the car is in motion. The unit only allows DVD viewing when the car is parked and the parking brake activated.

To get around this, you simply splice the parking break wire from the radio to the -NEG wire of the radio.

there is no such master code to unlock the device.you will need to enter the exact four digit code which was set before for the unit.but if you have lost the code.then there is one option called deactivate the the code function.in this function you can deactivate the current code which you forgot.and then you can reenter new four digit code.which you can easily remember.

Richard, how did you flash it with the update? I have an ipod cable in my glovebox but no usb cable. Do I need to pull the radio and install my own cable?

1. Check the fuse at the radio and in the vehicles fuse box
2. Check the wiring of the radio to ensure nothing has come loose/disconnected
3. Remove the radio and test it on another power source to ensure it is working properly.

If it's not the fuse (Step 1) I recommend visiting a quality local Car Audio specialist and getting them to assist you.
