Try a new / different disk recognized by this recorder. Make sure you're using DVD+RW disks. Others will not be recognized. Toshiba R410 Specs CNET

Did you try plugging it into a different socket before concluding it is dead?

get a new one amd instage it and tell the manger that it is not working

You can play these recordings without finalizing them in the D-R410, but if you want them to play
in other DVD players, they need to be finalized. See pages 28 to 32 in manual. If you want to
finalize the disks you've already made, follow the directions on page 32.

ok let's start from simple connection.we'll use color coding,let's say rca plug. yellow plug is video.from DVD video out is yellow and to the tv is video in. white and red is for audio.if your tv is 5.1 compatible then follow the label on your DVD and insert it to its corresponding label on your tv.then still if your using a separate audio amplifier only the yellow/video plug is used.

It is possible that the disks are not finalized. You may need to configure it to auto finalize, which is off by default. It would be impossible to have more than one title on a disk if you always auto finalized. Check your manual, and finalize your disks. Many times marginal disks will play OK in the unit they were recorded on, but not so well in other players. The media (disks) could be the problem as well. On a side note, the DR410 will NOT burn DL (dual layer) disks. I hope this helps and good luck.

Press Setup on the remote > General Settings (the first option down) > Display (the second option in this list) > OSD Language *the first line) and choose your language (English should be the first in the list). Use the up/down arrows to change lines followed by Enter to select the option.

If you are using a universal remote that doesn't have the setup button that works, you need a different remote.
