Can you stream netflix to

The LG 42LG30 is not a web-enabled system. You will need an intermediate box or computer to stream Netflix. Roku is a good option unless you have an Xbox 360 or a WII. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.

The so called plastic strip is not plastic, it is call Flexible Printed circuit board made from KAPTON, they are not soldered on to the LCD panel but they are ultrasonic welded on, it is obviously that people that tell you to resolder the connection never senn or work on the LCD panel before.
I would try reseating the ribbon cables between the T-CON board and the LCD panel first. Worst case will be bad LCD panel.

How do you take the base off the bottom to hang

On the back of the tv located at the very bottom where the stand meets the base of tv there are from 4 to 6 screws that hold it in place. I am including a link to the tv's manual. The instructions for the base are located on p.13. If this helps please rate me. I do not get paid but like to help.

Tv went blank no menu

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV. Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired ofcourse) and found four bulged capacitors on the PSB. Many major electronics companies Philips/Magnavox,Sony, Panasonic, and others were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 yearsinstead of 10-20. The capacitors failprematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in allsorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems. Here are some options for you. 1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is itunder warranty?) 2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cordplugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad capsreplace the entire board. The entireboard costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. Theycan be found at tv-part.com but supplies are limited. I would definitely shop around though. 3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill. Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourselfit will save you hundreds. I have a tip/tutorialon this site that may also help. Itgives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. It's called: Fixingthe Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. I'm working on uploading pictures to helpguide people though the process as well. Let me know if I can do anything to help. Hope this helps and Good luck. Kaufman605

Telly will not switch on, blue light comes on for

The problem you have described is called protection fault. When an overload is detected on one of the lines the tv will be shutdown to prevent damage. The cause of the failure is usually component level(resistor, voltage regulator IC etc.,) and the location is power supply board. You may want to take the assistance of a qualified tech to resolve this problem, as its not a good idea to work on high voltage electronics without prior experience.
