It looks as if the backlights are being switched off at start up, this will be due to a fault either with the inverter board or a fault with the screens backlights which would mean the screen needing replaced. Contact your repair centre to have an engineer give you an estimate on the cost of repair.

2 680u/25 caps explode in the p.s. caused by underrated power MOSFETS. Replace the caps.

You get 'INVALID FORMAT' because the video signal source resolution is too high for the TV to display, you need to lower your video source resolution.

Most of the times, the power suppply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors.These capacitors alway bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get ur tv power stable,and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole rerfurbish power supply board for the replacement.

First, check the power supply for the backlight. It's usually a 24 volt supply. Look for swollen caps. If that is ok, go to the inverter board and inspect for damage, ohm out the inverter transformers. Last is to test out the lamps seperately with an external inverter. If a lamp goes out this way, it is bad and causing the whole backlight to go out.

I work at CNN Have had 6 of these monitors go out in as many months. Take out the power supply and change the 2 exploded 680u capacitors. They're being overheated by the underrated MOSFETs on the reverse side of the board. I'm looking for some substitute MOSFETs that handle power better; but replacing the caps will usually fix the problem. Otherwise replace the supply.

Back lights are gone or the voltage 2 them is not present. Cheaper to buy a new one.

You wont want to hear this.....

Green dots on a LCD screen are burnt out pixels and unfortunately are incurable other than having the TV serviced at a high price. One of the reasons it is a good idea to get a warranty on these types of TVs is primarily due to this very problem....burnt out pixels.
