You can easily do that yourself. Just leave the tv unplugged overnight and then get it open...find the A board and just take out screws and then replace with the new board. Super easy!

Thank you and best of luck!

10 time blink

In most cases the standby light might blink with different rapidity to indicate a fault relevant to the processor. It is possible that most of these indicate that there are errors in the processing section . Since there is a possible short or leak in the circuit the output driver section can take in huge current to trip the SMPS or from advice from the micro processor. Remove the power plugs and make sure that high voltage sections are discharged of the potential stored in capacitors. Look for visible signs of leak or of busted capacitors. Look for bulged capacitors or damaged components- burnt or busted. Use a multimeter to check the continuity or shorting in components, if so detach from circuit and test . If the voltage builds up and the set power ON and then shuts up then the suspected section must be checked in detail.

The processor must have the +5 voltage to the function properly , the +B and secondary voltages also must be checked to infer the fault. Trace with caution and in running through the signal path , circuit trail.

Someone apparently has been messing

Hello and yes there is a easy way to solve this issue, on your Panasonic remote go to options or menu, in your memory list there should be a selection called either factory reset or default settings, choose it and hit OK, this will set your tv back to its original out of the box state.

When powering on ty shuts down and red light

Hi,

7 blinks is common, the power supply MIGHT need replacement, but the YSUS is bad.

You can disconnect the plug on the left side of the power supply and measure the Va voltage to see if the Ysus took out the power board or not. The power board is right in the center of the TV, and the Ysus is on the left side.

Take it apart, measure that Va voltage on the left side power connection, but you must measure it disconnected.

Board costs....expect about $150 for the power supply and about $250 for the Ysus board.
The upper/lower Y drivers are about $90 each, and you'll need 2.

The minimum you'll get away with is about $400 for everything but the power supply board. You will absolutely have to replace the Ysus and the Ydriver boards

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

The red light blinks 2

Hello,

You don't hear, but you hear any sound from the TV? If the TV does not make any sound, like-wise picture, then it means your TV is having a power problem.

The issue you describe is consistent with a power supply board issue. This is the board where the AC goes to. This problem may have occurred as a result of irregular power supply, or excess power supply or power surge.

The TV is receiving current but cannot circulate or transfer the current to other necessary part of the TV because of the defective power supply board. You might be lucky it's just a blow fuse. Also a defective transformer can cause your TV not to power on.

All these can be checked on the power supply board.

But more often bad capacitors causes problem on the power supply board. I do not think the power board needs replacement, rather those defective capacitors is causing this issue. Open unit up and take a look at the power supply board. You will probably see one or more electrolytic filter capacitors that are bulged up in the top-not perfectly flat like the others.

The value of these capacitors will be different, most likely they will be somewhere around-820 to 2200uF/25 V( or /10V sometimes)

You can replace them with same values but I would recommend the voltage rating to be higher(like 35V for an original 25V) for reliability purposes.

What happens is,these bulged top capacitors will cause a low and unfiltered DC voltage=main board will malfunction(the relay will keep clicking until the caps are holding enough charge to bring the voltage up over a threshold point).

You can buy these capacitors at any Fry's or Radioshack store or you can order them online at vendors like "mcmelectronics.com"(look for electrolytic capacitors). After replacing these capacitor(capacitors) most likely the normal operation will be restored. Or you can by a refurbished complete power board to save you some stress.

Note: There may be also some other causes for this symptom ,like a defective T con board ,or main board, but the bulged top capacitors are the most common cause for this issue.

If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you. Also, note that TV stores a lot of current, so wait a while before opening the TV back cover.

I hope the above helps....

Regards.

Hi, I have a panasonic Viera

It is very unlikely that the picture could get stretched vertically with out the zoom function being on.
Any way you could try the Aspect Ratio button on the remote - each time you press the button it will change the picture size from 4:3 / Just / 16:9 / Zoom 1 / Zoom 2 / Zoom 3 .
I think on the new remote there is no Aspect button - its labeled Format .
Leave the setting on JUST and the TV will self adjust to the incoming signal to fit the screen.

My 42" Vierra 1080 plasma

The pixels in the screen are commanded by a buffer board . This board connects to the screen with the help of a wide flat connector - in your case this command circuit appears to be faulty: either the buffer circuit is failing and the entire buffer board will have to be replaced ($250 part and labor from a pro) or the connection itself appears to be slightly out of line so when heated the contact is lost and the pixels get stuck (in that case the tv will have to be completely dismantled and all the contacts to the plasma panel reseated - $200 in labor).
Ask a quote around and select the cheapest repair shop you can find.

Tv isnt turning on, you will hear a click then see

Sounds like a power supply problem. I worked for a short period for Panasonic at their USA plasma R&D / small scale manufacturing facility and learned that to "ignite" or start the plasma when turning on the set, a significant current discharge is required.

The recycling seems to indicate that the "brain" in the set realized that a plasma has not been established, and it is attempting to recharge the starting circuit. The flashing power light is probably significant and a trained technician or a service manual will probably identify this as a trouble code pointing to the problem. Sorry, I did not have any exposure to the finished product and cannot advise what the code means.

If the set is still under warranty, you should act immediately and get the problem taken care of, because it will not go away on its own, and will most likely get worse. Sorry the news is not better. Good luck!

Will not turn on , when you try turn on the stanby

This may be just a power supply issue, but if you meant your DOP was July of 2010 then just take it back to where you bought it or call Panasonic. It should have a 1 year standard manufacturer's warranty. Good luck.
