Vertical line
Hello,
Most probably the vertical deflection amplifier is failing. The most common part that fails is the vertical output transistor.
The set is too old to find documentation on part numbers and descriptions. Probably the part is no longer available and you will need the assistance of someone who can help you find an equivalent transistor that will do the job.
Of course, without testing we cannot be certain the failure is the output transistor. It could be from something else such as the voltage regulator that feeds the dc line to the vertical section. Could be the vertical synchronous level that goes too low to trigger the vertical sweep generator.
Other bad parts in vertical deflection circuit though there are not that many parts that would kill the deflection entirely.
Loss of power to vertical deflection circuits. Check for blown fusable resistors/fuses and bad connections.
Loss of vertical oscillator or vertical drive signals
Good luck.
TV does not turn on
hello,
Ensure that the TV plug connected firmly to the mains power supply, if nothing happens,
It is require of you to open the cover of the TV to check for blown fuses, if found, do replace with a new one of the same current rating.
if otherwise your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics’ and soldering? Most of the times, the power suppply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors alway bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get ur tv power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole rerfurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Hello, I have a Sony
Hi,
If lines at 1/4 of bottom part of screen are across the screen then it could be T-Con or LCD Panel problem and if lines stop in halfway then its confirmed LCD panel problem.
Below exploded view (taken from service manual) shows T-Con board location in this tv.
Hope this info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.
Display faded to black and standby light blinks 14
14 blinks is a high frame rate error, you can check the LVDS cable connections first, if not work replace the T-con board, if still not work, replace the panel, but it is not worth the money to repair.
There are two different t-con boards for this model, part # 1-857-132-11 cost $270, and 1-857-240-11cost $200. It depends on the serial #, you need to make sure which one is for your TV.

I have a 52 inch SONY Bravia that has been stuck
Press the "WIDE" button on the TV remote a few times to change the TV wide mode settings until you get it to "FULL". If that does not fix it, look on your Cable box remote for an "Aspect" or "Format" button and press it a few times. I hope this helps.
Will a TV made for Europe perform OK in the USA
NOT unless it is a DUAL frequency Standard, as Europe is PAL & SECAM, USA is NTSC. Also the HERTZ is different too 50Hz Europe, 60Hz USA, so really NO. IF it would work, it would have an international power supply, meaning it was usable any where in the world. and also it would have a multi tuner. Otherwise it will NOT go.
WATER COMING OUT OF THE SCREEN.
The only answer is to trade your TV with my old 13" RCA with the rotary channel selector knob. You obviously were not prepared for the incredible performance and effects today's technology can provide.
Let me know when you are ready to swap.
Joe
