Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. Your tv probably has a remote. One of the buttons says "menu" or "settings". In one of those menues will be a reset to factory or default.

It sounds that there is some loose contact in the connection wires inside it. Check all the flat cable connections for any loose contact. Re-seat them once, and check If you are not familiar with electronics, do not attempt to repair. Whether you suffer fatal electrical shock! Instead, contact the nearest service center.
