Foxtes MR-8 track bouncing problems

You are leaving at least one track open to bounce to aren't you? And you should leave 2 open if doing stereo tracks. More information would be helpful.

HI WHEN DOWNLOADING MY RECORDINGS TO MY DELL 1720

Ensure your Master output volume is at an acceptable level when recording. The machine will only save audio at the levels which it is recorded.

Also be sure to adjust levels accordingly when bouncing tracks down to one channel. I ussually prefer to set the EQ for these tracks to flat (or zero), as you will have much better results doing the EQ in final mix.

How do you check firmware version or update the

GO to USB, set Card Protect=Off

Then start up USB Device Mode

The Fostex will come up as an external drive. Copy the .MOT file over to the root directory (where all the folders for your songs are).

Using Windoze' Safely Remove, (or Mac's Eject) disconnect the Fostex from the computer.

Disconnect the MR-8 from the USB cord.

Now hold down the STOP key and press Enter at the same time. This will cause a new option, the Service Menu, to appear. Click Enter, scroll on down to Version Up. Hit Enter again, and you'll see your file (MR8MV105.MOT in my case). Click Enter again, and it will ask you to confirm. Follow the instructions; press both RECORD and ENTER at the same time to continue.

Then you'll see File Loading, then Flash ROM erasing, then Flash ROM writing, then Completed, please hit STOP key. Then turn it off at the switch, and back on.

Assuming all went well, when you hold down the STOP and press ENTER, the Service Mode will come up again. Press ENTER, then press ENTER again (for Version) and confirm.

Enjoy!
