Kenwood KAC-7204 Car Audio Amplifier Questions & Answers
How do i power on my kenwood amp
I am assuming that you have never connected an amplifier to car audio before.I highly suggest that if you are a first-time installer you take it to a reputable car audio shop to have them install it for you. You can go on YouTube to see videos on how to install an amplifier. I do not know your mechanical capabilities so therefore I can not suggest that you go off of a video alone.
Setting the sound from my amp
I would need to know exactly what you are connecting this amplifier too. Is this going to run your subs? Your highs? Or your entire system? This amplifier may be used to run stereo and mono speaker components at the exact same time.
My kenwood KAC-7204--- the wiring
when i was running my sub off bridge mode this kept happening to me. I ended up just running two subs and for some reason the fuse stopped blowing. i think there is something wrong with these amps.
What is briged mode
I think you mean bridged.Which it is when you have for example a 2 Channel amp but instead of hooking Ch1's + & - or Ch2's + & - to the terminals on your speaker you would instead hook a + from Ch1 then the - from Ch2 to your speaker. The purpose is to increase the rms wattage being delivered to the speaker. Be sure to check what ohm stable your amp is while bridged though cause if the load is to low the amp will not last long.
When i turn the music
Hi, the amp is going into protect mode. You can either keep it turned down or possibly reconfigure the speaker connections for a higher impedance. If you tell be the model of your sub, I may be able to suggest a better arrangement.
There is a manual here if you don't have one: http://manual.kenwood.com/en_contents/attachDownload/6017/
Red and blue light stays
hi there
The reason for this is the ground is weak to the amp make sure that the post that your ground wire is screwed down to is tight also make sure that is touching bare metal if there is paint on bottom side use wire brush to get the paint off so it is bare metal a weak ground can mess the amp up and make it not work at all hope this helps you have a wonderful day
My amp has power but
Hi. I just had a thought that you should check your RCA wires coming from your radio to your amp. Test with a different pair and let me know. Hope this helps
LIghts on the amp are
check if your ground is secure enough to put a large charge through. if thats not the problem, its probably internal.
Power is hooked up. Ground is connected. Both subs
on most amp red isnt good that means it in protection mode try turning your setting on the amp down all the way and turn the volume down tell you can get sound out of them then turn up the volume to were you would to them most and set the to what sounds the best but make sure the light doesnt dim down when the base hits
If my long blue flashes on my amp when my subs hit
It;s not getting enough power. Seriously consider getting at least a 1 farad capacitor. It stores power for when the sub hits and recharges in between. I posted a tip explaining it in layman's terms if you look at my tips for more clarification. Please rate my assistance and leave a testimonial.
