Connect a different monitor to your computer, to see if your computer really is "sending" a video-signal through the "data" cable. If not, then either the data-cable or the video-card inside the computer is faulty.

There are two points here.
1. After the monitor turns black do you still see some activity of the PC? Like some noises of the HDD or the HDD light working. If yes then the problem could be with the monitor. (I doubt very much).
2. If no, then the problem could be with the Windows installation. If so the press F8 at boot up and from the black and white menu that you are taken to, select Last Good Boot up or words to that effect. Or you can even select Safe Mode. Let the PC boot up and then in the next phase you can let it boot normally.

Monitor brighness shuts off
It sounds like the backlight circuits are not working, it can be due to bad power supply.
Most common failure in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

The Solution for both is NEW strip i recommend APC or plug it into a strip and check the outlet and make sure its properly grounded this should shore up this problem or the unit itself is going out. This problem is best described as the LCD monitor "Shadow Effect".
The solution to this very simple. No software or hard ware changes required.
The cables that are connected to the LCD monitors are causing the problem. Its also called as electromagnetic noise or electrical noise.
Solution: Keep the two cables - (power cable and moitor display cable), that are connected to the LCD monitor as far away as possible with each other and also away from other electrical cables.
Thats it. Your shadow effect is fixed.

"Input not supported" roaming on my screen
It means that the resolution of the windows is set too high for your monitor. You will have to find some better monitor to connect it to it, and then to lower the resolution, after that, it should be working just fine
Computer screen says no signal
it could be that the monitor is out of range. plug in an old crt monitor if it works go to display options (where you change your background) click on the settings tab and move the res. to 1024x768
Input not supported on my screen
your resulition is set too high. to fix this you need to either change it on another screen if you have one or restart your computer into safe mode. usually in safe mode it will be on the lowest setting and you will have full access to change it from there.
I have a line threw my monotor
