This is a known issue with the unit that you have. It is called an LCD tab bonding defect. If you want to try to repair it, you need to get the unit apart so that you can access the edge of the lcd panel. Power it on and observe the picture and then press the edges of the display and see if you can locate the point that the edge has the defect. If you can locate that point then you have 2 options, Uncovering that point as best that you can and using a heat gun to attempt to reflow the connections OR you can find something to clamp that point and hope that it holds, otherwise you are going to have to pay for a new screen. You cannot order it yourself because they wont ship to you.

Welcome to Fixya. Can you try to disconnect the monitor to your computer and see if it will come on or you still have the same issue. What where trying to figure out is if this is caused by a hardware issue of the CPU. Please let me know the result so that we can continue troubleshooting.

The Standby/Power light of the TV blinks when there is any internal malfunction in the TV.
The self-diagnostic function of the projection TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the television detects an issue. The number of times the STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue. As per the two examples below, some of the issues may be resolved without the need for service.
If the STANDBY light flashes three times in sequence, the lamp cover is not securely attached. Reattach the lamp cover to resolve this issue.
If the STANDBY light flashes four times in sequence, the TV may be overheating. To resolve this issue, ensure that the back of the TV is well ventilated.

If the flash sequence is not listed above or the light continues to flash, follow the steps below to perform a power reset:
Try the following steps to check if the issue can be resolved.
Turn off the television.
Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.

If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.

If the issue continues to occur, service may be required.

Power on the unit in the dark room then shine with the flashlight directly in the screen, you will barely see the images. This is because your backlight is not functioning. The following reason is the caused.
1. Power supply - missing B+(supply voltage) coming from this board feeding the inverter board. This is caused by faulty transistor, dried/leaky electrolytic capacitor, open fusible resistor.
2. Inverter board - even the B+ is good from the power supply, if the fuse, driver transistor, driver transformer is faulty no output to the backlight resulting to black picture.
3. Busted backlight - even inverter board is good but if this is busted resulting to black picture also.
Diagnosing the fault is technical and if you don't have necessary tools and test instrument and can't fix it yourself, I would advice you to look for an experienced technician to isolate the problem.

There are replacement screens available but I don't know if you'd be able to get an exact replacement for the broken one, but anyway they're expensive and you might as well just buy a new monitor.

speretz, Are you sure the "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps" need to be replaced? You do know that there are other things that can fail and cause the CCFL's not to light-up!!! Namely the CCFL "inverter supply" or the unit's "switch-mode-power-supply" If you are going to try a DIY fix let me suggest a visit to YOUTUBE to view some video clips of DIY LCD monitor and TV disassembly and repair clips so you will understand what you are dealing with. Then, after doing all that you can come back here and tell us how you have taken over the dining room table and covered it with a nice soft blanket and are now ready to do video documentation of your Sony 52" "tear-down" and "visual" inspection and evaluation. Most probably LCD Controller Board (T-Con) is bad in that kind of symptoms.
You can get T-Con Board from Shop Jimmy on reasonable price if its in-stock and T-Con board is not available individually in Sony Parts Store so Sony will supply entire LCD Panel along with T-Con board mounted on it that is of course costly item.

There are some that say sending strong images that change from to color to color can help unstick them, but I say only dissassembly and cleaning of the contacts (there should be 2 ribbon cables, one for top, one for side) that probably got dust in it. Call it in under warranty if at all possible.

Why do they need to be turned on all the time? If your using them as security cameras they are not designed for that job. The 330 could be overheating because of the constant use. Some cameras have a built in 'Overheat' switch which could be switching it off. These cameras are designed for short periods of use, recording things like parties and holiday trips. How old are these handycams? These do get old and the technology in them can wear out if in constant use.
