Brother MFC 7840W Printer Questions & Answers
How to clear scanning paper jam on the scan feeder? It keep on rolling and rolling then paper jam message appear but there is no paper
This can be tricky. First of all only try to fix a scanner when you're in very good mood, otherwise you'll brake the parts. Trust me on this.
Have a good flash light, disconnect the power cord (very important), open every place where the paper runs. Go easy because you're dealing with cheap plastic parts that can easily break. If a door doesn't open don't push it.
With the flash light inspect every single inch where the paper runs. Probably you did this before, doesn't matter, do it again. You are searching for small piece (s) of paper that is entangled around the rollers. When you find one grab it with long tweezers. Be gentle, try not to tear it apart, and keep your fingers out of there. If the paper is between rollers and doesn't move try to rock the roller like paper passing through. Again, be gentle, don't force anything.
When you are sure every part is clean, repeat the operation one more time (I told you to be in a good mood).
If this doesn't work take the machine outside - or place at the garage. Open the paper tracking places and blow compressed air. I use a yard blower.
Good luck.

Brother 7840w keep getting paper jam inside open
Most jams in this area of a printer are caused by two things: The Pickup Roller and the Separation Pad in the Tray. You can clean the roller with a coffee filter and water or use a non-amonia based cleaner. I suggested the coffee filter for several reasons:Cheap, Lint Free & Durable. Now as to the Separation Pad: Rough up the pad with a sharp knife [lightly please!] or rub with steel wool. this should be done if the pad feels slick when you rub you finger over it. Also, check the registration sensor flag which is usually just under the toner cartridge or just before it. If that flag is sticking, or slow to return to its correct position, the signal detects its late and stops all paper movement thinking it's jammed.
