If you have a USED pc that you dont know the log in details to, cant you call the buyer and ask for the details, sounds very suspicious.
BUT, to get around the xp login is quite easy.

1. First reboot Windows XP in safe mode by re-starting the computer and pressing F8 repeated as the computer starts up.
2. Then (in safe mode) click Start and then click Run. In the open box type "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes, of course)
3. You will now have access to all the user accounts, including the administrators account and will be able to reset the lost password.
4. Just click the administrators user account (or the target user's account), and then click Reset Password. You will need to add a new password in the New password and the Confirm new password boxes, and confirm by clicking OK.

Most probably it can be an issue with the computer.
Try checking the VGA(Video) cable also.

Don Kill your PC.... Just follow instruction Wile you turn On your PC press del en old it you will go on the CMOS Setup..Then Look caruly for default setup then press on it.. the press F10 to save your change.. Then resart your pc first put your XP CD in your CD-ROM then restart the machine Press F12 and old till you see a Menu press on CD install ... Make shure you have your XP Key on the cover of your CD ... DONLOAD ALL YOUR DRIVER FIRST THEN SAVE IT ON A BLANCK CD FOR LATER ..good luck

With the brief description I understand that you are talking about the BIOS password which is a DOS screen. I am attaching an article which would explain you the things that you can do how to disable the BIOS password.

Note: BIOS is a dos program but once you are able to move forward from BIOS it should boot up windows. Inside windows you can check under programs what applications you have already got installed. The disks handed over to you are only for backup and you might not require all of them. Windows / MS-office / Internet explorer are the basic programs used commonly.

You need to shut it down and remove the power cord. Press and hold the power ON button for about 5 seconds.

Open the case to the computer and do one of 2 things:

1) Pop out the CMOS battery which is about the size of a quarter and is usually a 3 volt battery. Leave it out for several minutes, then reinsert it in the slot. Close the case and connect the power cord. Power up and then you will have to enter the BIOS, verify your settings and do a Save and Exit. This will eliminate the password prompt. (Note:Different computers use different keys to get into the BIOS. It is usually an F key or the Delete key. Watch for the message as it boots.)

OR...

2) Most motherboards have a jumper labeled CLR or RESET. There are 3 pins together with a jumper on 2 of the pins. If the jumper is on pins 1 and 2, remove it and place it on pins 2 and 3 for 15 seconds. Then remove it and place it back on pins 1 and 2. Replace the cover, power up and again, enter the BIOS and verify your settings and do a Save and Exit.

What it says on the monitor ? No signal ? If yes then:
1 - check the cable, eventually use another one and plug it in in the other video socket.
2 - check if the problem is a software one by trying to boot in Safe Mode - if you can then it's a software problem, uninstall your present video driver and reboot; then you will have to use an older version.
3 - if none of the above worked it's probably the video card - try to go in to the BIOS; if you can't then it's time for a new video card.

I'd suggest there is a possible hardware error. You need to get into the bios and check the temperatures they'll be under 'system health' or similar. Also might be worth running a ram check. Download 'windiag' it's a microsoft program designed to check your ram and it is very good.

The modem is a bell modem. The ethernet port if for a LAN connection only.

i give you the one solution you first check that the lead is fully pluged and the sound driver is installed in your computer and if not then install sound driver for sound it's really works try this if any error occured conatct me at [email protected] ok

You can get wireless internet as long as you connect to a wireless router/Access point. If you have Internet, you would need to get a wireless router in order to use your internet wirelessly.
