Battery wire location

First you have to remove all backing plates...Wire feeds through the small hole running from battery area and attached to the volume/treble dials...then to the pickups..Everything is soldered to the switches....If you plan on removing them you will need a soldering gun and silver soldering wire...It takes a steady hand and good vision to do this....I recommend a magnifying glass and or glasses....

My red wire from battery became un soldered where dose it go

It should be easy to identify because of the solder where it was connected...You should notice at first glance....However the red wire jumps to another..Sometimes there are 3 to 4 red wires that all run from the main pending on the pick-ups If you have more than one there will be more than one wire...Look closely with a magnifying glass I'm sure you will see it...Follow all red wires until you see the small lump of solder where wire was broken from...Normally when this happens there are still a tiny piece of the wire stuck inside of solder...

Check battery. There is a small circuit board that is not attached to anything except a few very fine wires. These came loose on mine and no schematic is available. I trashed mine and bought a Fender Jazz. sorry

My double pick up Dean

Make sure you have two wires soldered to the output jack on the bass. having a wire lose is not purposely put like that, for no sound from the bass then that wire is either from the pickups and connects to the pots on the bass or on the output jack. I would suggest taking it to an authorized dean dealer to inspect the wiring.

Check if your guitar is passive or active. Some require batteries and if those are not in, the output will be VERY low. Also NEVER use rechargeable batteries for these instruments.

New bass that has no sound when plugged in to amp.

Rememberthe switch for the battery is ACTUALLY the sleeve of your guitar cable. If the jack fails, the battery will not be connected. Unfortunately, these jacks take a lot of abuse. The jack is really a stereo jack and the connection of the "ring" of the Tip-Ring_Sleeve (TRS) female jack to the "sleeve" connection is what grounds the battery for operation.

Mistakenly using a stereo audio cable will also cause this problem.

Use a good quality instrument cable, preferably gold plated plugs. Bad cables cause a LOT of these problems!

My Dean Edge 5 bass stops working after 20 minutes

This would be characteristic if the battery is failing. Try a new battery. Batteries fade out and then they tend to recover if not used for a few minutes. The only real way to test the battery is with a brand new one. Try that first IF you have not done so.
One other problem is if the output jack is going bad. The jack is a stereo type and they use the ring connection on it to ground the battery to turn it on. If that contact gets marginal, then the battery voltage to the preamp collapses and sound fades out.
It is UNLIKELY there is a problem with the pickups causing this. A cracked circuit board could also do this but I don't think it would wait 20 minutes. Delays like that point to the battery. DO NOT believe any battery indicators... they OFTEN lie !!!

I have Ibanez gsr200 bass guitar , yesterday and

No question what to do... take it in under warranty since it is new !!!

You may find that there is a problem with your amp... the seller should be able to test the guitar and demonstrate normal sound for you.

Many users have TOO small of an amp and the distortions make it appear that the guitar is bad... I suspect you will want at least a 12 inch speaker and preferably a 15 inch for your bass.

When low frequency signals drive a speaker too hard it drives the voicecoil out of the linear range and the sound will be irregular..

Dean edge bass quits

The wiring in the back is so very thin and the circuit board isn't attached to anything but the wires that are attached to it. I found two weak solder joints there and one in the battery compartment (you'll have to remove it to get to the solder joints). I don't know which repair did the job, but it's working for now, anyway. I'd like to replace the tiny wires but there's not enough room in that compartment. I, also, had to replace the 4 bridge screws with larger diameter SS screws months ago as ALL 4 were stripped. Thread too fine for wood that soft. Come on Dean, step it up a notch! The bass plays and sounds great.

These often use a special Allen wrench. It is easy to damage the neck.

I would recommend taking it to a guitar place/shop and have them evaluate that the neck is the problem. There are other problems such as the bridge that can cause this.
