You have a broken ground either on the jack, the plug or internal in the amp. Check both connections first. I think you will find it. If not open the amp and check for broken wires, cracked solder joints, etc. While checking the connections resolder all connections no matter what they look like. Let me know how you make out.

Electric Guitar wont play through Amp
the buzzing is indicative of an open ground connection, check the cord by substitution or with an ohm meter, if the cord is good look at the connections to the jack inside the amp ( im guessing you built the amp from a kit). Is this a solid state amplifier? Tube amps have lethal votages and should not be experimented on without knowledge of electronic safety. Also if there is more than one input to the amp try plugging the guitar into another one and see if its still the same.
I have an Ibanez Art 100 and I am having trouble
Trace the string from the body to the tuning peg, making sure that there isn't anything rubbing and that the string is routed properly. Compare it's routing to your other strings. When you get to the tuning peg, note how many tines the string goes around the peg. It should go around at least three times (more is better, to a point), and wrap above and below the tail of the string to friction lock it to the peg. If it isn't locked in, the string will loosen itself over a period of time, making it impossible to keep it tuned.
Hope this helps! Regards, --W/D--

Keep from warping the neck
A warp neck is the most common cause of poor playability. A bow in the neck changes the action and even sometimes the intonation. This can cost quit a few bucks at the shop. The cause is a lack of humidity. the instrument drys out and causes a curling effect in the wood. Any wood instrument needs moisture .Its the nature of wood . Prevention: place a humidifier in your gtr. case. { get one at local gtr. shop]Take your gtr. it to the shower with you . [ not under the water of corse], let it **** up some steam now and then. if you live in a very dry climate beware . Northan areas where it humid most of the time you don;t have to be so concerned. This will save you a lot of repair cost. Keep on playing in the free world. DFD
