my kodak M1063 turns on and goes to the welcome screen then the lens comes back in and shuts off how do i fix this and can I?
I had the same exact problem. When the camera turns on and then lens extends, hold the lens out while the camera shuts off. Then sort of move it around a bit. I did this and when I turned it on, it was fixed. I guess something was jammed in the lens.

should the power light be green or red, when I turn camera on it shows a green light then turns red
Red light indicates that the camera is out of charged., Try to charged your battery for 3-4 hrs if you encounter flashing red on a fully charged battery you need to call kodak 1 800 235 6325 ext 12
You can charged you camera using 5V AC Adaptor or a USB cable taht attached into the computer

As a gift my grandmother ordered a Kodak easy share digital camera M340, It was working fine and i actually loved it.. I received the camera last month ( JULY 09).. Today I went to the beach and while there taking pictures i turned it off for like 20 minutes, later when i pressed the power button to turn it back on, it will stay on for like one or two seconds then automatically turns back off.. i tried repeatedly to turn it on and it went through the same process..the battery is fully charged, it has never been dropped and it seems to be fine.. but still no luck in turning it on.. my grandmother says it might have been the sand from the beach that got into the camera.. so i tried wiping the camera and it's battery & tried blowing it out but it still wouldn't work.. I went on the camera's website and tried there suggestions and that didnt work either....i read over the internet that people is having the same problem with their kodak cameras too.. I really like this camera and cant afford to buy anymore at this time.. SO my question is... WHAT SHOULD I DO AND WHAT IS THE PROBLEM??......
I had the same problem after a day at the beach. What I did was get a
can of compressed air (from the computer section) and blow air around
the lens as I repeatedly turned it on. It took about five cycles, but
I eventually cleared whatever was preventing the lens from fully
opening.
Good luck.

My Kodak Camera will not upload pictures to my computer. I plug the USB to my Compaq laptop and turn the camera on like in the manual, but all i get is the flashing green light on it.
Possible solutions:
Remember you need to turn the camera on when transferring.
Try a different USB outlet
Try a different cable
Try a different computer.
If all fails please contact KODAK in order to arrange a repair or order a new cable. Remember your USB cable is covered under the same warranty as your camera, so remember your serial number when calling:

i'm trying to upload pictures from my kodak m1063 easyshare camera onto my computer but it's not trasferring all of my pictures, it says some are duplicates when they aren't... i've even tried selecting the individual ones that weren't transferred to try and upload them but the easyshare software won't let me and just pops up with that message that says "some of these photos were duplicates and were not transferred again"
I've just found a fix for this problem after fighting it myself for a week. Don't use the transfer window that Easyshare gives you when you connect your camera (or which is also available under the tools/cameras/viewers dropdown menu).
Cancel this window if it comes up. Then select "add pictures" from the file dropdown menu (as if you were going to add pictures from your hard-drive to the easyshare gallery). The camera will appear in the folder list. Open the m1063 folder, select the pictures you want (or select all) then click the "add pictures" button.

I am having the same problem as other Kodak users :-
http://www.fixya.com/support/t3471785-camera_cannot_turn_or_off_only_3_months
the camera is less than a week old, batteries fully charged and shouldnt have got dirty inside the battery area its the MD41 model. Is there a known fault with them?
I understand that you have checked the batteries and the cleaned the contacts. Eventhough here are the steps: 1. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera. Please make sure that you are installing a fresh/ fully charged battery c. Without the memory card, turn your camera on. 2. Please test with the a different battery If you do not have access to another battery Try these steps instead: Please take the battery out of the camera. b. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the battery. If you camera doesn?t switch on you will need to order a No power repair or a new cable. In order to organise your repair or Trade up please Contact KODAK: http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=14563&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=3490

I dropped my kodak m1063 easyshare camera whiel takign a picture the lens was extended when dropped. One side of the lens is not crooked inwardly and stuck, it also does not stay on when the power button is pushed, it automatically closes the reason being the lens is stuck; when turning the camera off (before it was dropped) the lens automatically retracts. I need an estimate to how much this will cost to get repaired.
FOLLOW this procidure open the camera then rotate the lens and set it like it was before
