Digital menu
Usually there is a menu button that toggles between settings info and live image?
So I have an EOS Rebel Xsi, and it has been working perfectly for the last couple of months. I turned it on and tried to take a picture in MF, but then a yellow light on the front starts flashing and
Sounds like the self timer was accidently set.
Description
Using the Self-timer on the EOS REBEL T3i.
Solution
The self-timer is useful when you want to photograph yourself or prevent camera shake caused when the shutter is released.
1. Set the power switch to <ON>.
2. Press < > button.
3. Press <Cross Keys> to select the desired self-timer, then press the <SET> button.
: 10-sec. self-timer (The remote control can also be used.)
: 2-sec. self-timer
: 10-sec. self-timer plus continuous shots. After selecting , press <Cross Keys> to set the number of multiple shots (2 to 10) to be taken with the self-timer.)
4. Look through the viewfinder, focus the subject, then press the shutter button completely.
- You can check the self-timer operation with the self-timer lamp, beeper, and countdown display (in seconds) on the LCD monitor.
- Two seconds before the picture is taken, the self-timer lamp will stay on and the beeper will sound faster.
Attention:
With [ ], the interval between the multiple shots may be prolonged depending on the shooting functions settings such as the image-recording quality or flash.
NOTE:
- After taking self-timer shots, you should check the image for proper focus and exposure.
- If you will not look through the viewfinder when you press the shutter button, attach the eyepiece cover. If stray light enters the viewfinder when the picture is taken, it may throw off the exposure.
- When using the self-timer to photograph only yourself, use focus lock on an object at about the same distance as where you will stand.
- To cancel the self-timer after it starts, press the < > button.
Can not see subject through the lcd screen
Um, no. EOS Rebel is a "single lens reflex" camera. The display on the back does not show live image. Use the viewfinder above it. After you take a picture, the picture will show on the screen for a few seconds.
Canon rebel xsi lcd is faded and doesn't shut off
To eliminate the chance of the screen actually being damaged due to the camera being dropped, here's a little test you can do? Click on the MENU button and scroll to the 5th icon, the first setting you should see is LCD Brightness. Look at the scale and make sure the little top white arrow is in the middle, that setting should give you a normal brightness for the screen, if it is towards the left side that would dim your screen, move it to the middle using the side buttons around the main SET button. If the little white arrow is already set in the middle, then you screen might be damaged after all? Theres not other setting for the LCD brightness other than that one.
As for it not shutting off, do you mean the camera doesn't shut off or the screen doesn't shut off after a few minutes?
Won't focus properly on auto focus.
Depending on your lens, you may have an AF/MF switch. Make sure it's set to AF for Auto Focus. Try increasing your light levels. Does focus work in a good light setting?
You should have a button that looks like a matrix. Press this button to set your focus point. Use the joy-stick like wheel to select the focus point. Press it to select Auto Focus points.
