The best solution is to send the product back to the manufacturer for repair or replacement. If you have a receipt for the product and its within the warranty period (1 year) they will do this free of charge. I can help you with the process.

I get clean card or format, what do I do? I
Try formatting it either in camera or on a PC Was this a new card? and is it too big for the camera to recognise? Try a lower value card, I think 2Mb is the highest value card this can read ( I think that is correct,so if this is a 4mb, that may be your problem) Also large format cards slow down the camera between pics and so it causes you to miss some shots because it hasn't finished writing. Additionally when starting the camera it takes longer to read the card to get started.

Short answer - yes.
Manufacturers have become very good at making products that are reliable for exactly 1 year.
Usually it's small components that have a deffinate shelf life.
I would first check that you are using the correct battery for it. Even if it looks like it takes standard AA's - they often will only work for original spec rechargable blocks.
If this does not solve it - write a letter to Olympus saying how dissapointed you are with their product.
They may offer you a good deal on a repair hopefully.
Unfortunately Sony and HP are even worse - HP and lexmark printers now stop working after a period of time - telling you to buy more ink - even though you still have plenty.
Sand in lens of Olympus sp 350, won't open
Bad news, as a camera repairman, I can tell you that even by taking it apart I can't guarnatee getting all the sand out- As Dr. McCoy on Star Trek would say- "he's / it's dead , Jim"

Take a look at this PDF file for your camera, courtesy of Olympus:
http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/oima_cckb/Downloading_images_From_Camera_OM2.pdf
It shows you how to hook up your camera to the computer and how to transfer files but I believe once you can see the images on your camera, you can highlight the ones you want and do what you want with them. Transfer them and then delete them or just delete them.
Take a look at it cause it goes into great detail on what to do.
How do you delete pictures from the card when you
If you cannot do it from the camera, you can plug your camera to the computer. Open you Windows Explorer and browse from the camera's drive. From there you can delete those files inside the folders.

The screen can't usually burn out just from using it. Do a hard reset, take the battery out and let it sit like that for 5min. If that doesn't help it needs to be opened to find out what's the problem. There is an independent company in new york that specializes on small point& shoot digital cameras, :

Hi,
To get that repaired will cost you about $58.85. This does not include the shipping to send it back to Olympus. They will call you if for some reason the camera couldn't be repaired and more then likely offer you a deal on a new one or some kind of replacement. This doesn't sound like it is that much of a problem to replace so you should be able to get that done with no problem.
I am sending you the link for the forms you will need. There is one that gives you instructions on shipping your camera and the other one is a repair form you will need to print out and send with your camera. Here is that link:

Best wishes.
