I have a light pink
I wouldnt say beyond repair, if you were able to compress it and the screen would appear normal there is a connection problem, your monitor has small connections making it work one happens to be an inverter. It could be that the connection is loose, the bad thing about that is if its loose there is a chance it could cause a short which in return you will need an inverter or whole monitor.
1. try hooking it up to an external monitor, you need a vga or dvi cable and try hooking up to a projector or another monitor, if that doesnt work its your video card. unfortunately either fix is somewhat expensive. Good luck and please vote thank you.
if you have have hooked up an external monitor before here are some instructions
1. make sure the power is off
2. plug the vga cord to your laptop and to the external monitor, 15 pins normally blue or back has 15 little holes ive seen some that are pink.
3. turn both on
4. you may have to hit a function key thats the fn button plus (on mine is f4 small rectangle with a line on each side of it .
5. if the external monitor works then your monitor or the cables to your monitor are bad
6. if the external monitor doesnt work its your video card and you will need a new motherboard if the card is integrated.

Sony vaio vgn-cr510e overheating and
Either the cooling fan is not functioning properly or not functioning at all, or the heat sink's vents are blocked by dust & need to be cleared.
Another possibility could be that the thermal grease applied to the top surface of the CPU and/or the graphics chip has dried out & needs to be cleaned & new fresh thermal grease applied.

My wevcam on VGN-CR510E is not detected? please
First check whether the built in Camera is recognized in the Device Manager window under Imaging Devices or USB Controller.
Windows + R Key, type devmgmt.msc to access Device Manager.
If the Built in web cam is detected in Device Manager, then uninstall the Camera Device by right clickin on the device and selecting Uninstall option.
Once you uninstall the Driver, you can download and install the Camera Driver from the following link:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNCR510E&upd_id=3586&os_id=28
Download and install the Driver in your Computer. Then reinstall the ArcSoft WebCam Companion from the following link:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNCR510E&upd_id=3596&os_id=28
Then restart the Computer and use the Camera.
If the Built in Camera is not detected in the Device Manager, it means Hardware issue and service would be necessary.
However, you can use a USB Camera and use it with the USB Port in your Computer.

Sony webcam no longer works with windows 7
1. The drivers for this Web camera may not be developed for Windows 7 64 bit by the manufacturer.
You will either have to purchase a new camera to be compatible with Windows 7 or Vista 64.
This is also true for your SD card reader.

Sony vgn-cr510e: I have to bend my screen to get
Unseat and reseat the lcd cable on the back of the LCD and to the motherboard.
Then see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't then the lcd is going bad on you or the cable has a break in it somewhere so the cable would have to be replaced if that is the case.

Instructions on installing a keyboard for Vaio VGN
We are talking about a standard keyboard and a standard computer??? Is it USB or something else?
Normally, I would expect to simply plug the keyboard into the appropriate port. You might have special software for special features on your keyboard. But even without the software, the standard keys should operate with nothing more than a plug in. The plug may be color coded to match the port.
Do you need more help ... Id like to help you. I need additional information to go forward.
Thanks
