No video, just audio.

This problem is mostly due to not having a certain bit of software on your PC, or a bit of software that is behind a strong fire wall.
Download the latest version of Direct X for your PC type windows it is free from Microsoft website, and Flash Player to, then after installing (and reboot) all should be fine ok?

Can't find clips on PC

Sorry my friend, but these Hard Drive cameras are not a good idea to catch movies on, yes it is a new idea, but the only proper way to catch movies is on Tape like the 8mm if you like most you want reliability, even the DVD is a poor way to take movies, they simply go wrong like Hard Drives too often, your hard drive simply was NOT operating when you thought it was, sorry but you should try and grab a proper camera like a Sony Hi8 and get a safe way to catch films.

INSTALLATION SOFTWARE

I couldn't find anyplace on the internet to get the software for free, or even buy it. I found JVC USA's webpage for finding a dealer near you. Try to contact them and see if they can get one for you. Here's the link:
http://maps.jvc.com/dealerList/
You might try taking the camera in to Best Buy. They often have extra CD software from returns, and might be able to make you a copy, or download the disk to your computer. Good luck, hope you have success!

Can't export video

I, myself, bypass the camcorder software for my machine, since it has "glitches" in it, and is more trouble than it's worth. When you connect the camcorder to the computer, go to "My Computer" and click on the drive (it will be g:, e:, something like that). Then just open your camcorder files through the DCIM folder for the drive, select all the pictures, and move them to a pre-named file on your computer. This will erase the memory card, at the same time, and you will have your vids on your computer. Otherwise, you will have to contact JVC and hassle with figuring out if it's the software, hardware, etc., and that can be a real pain, unless you happen to get someone that knows exactly what's going on. Also, if the camera's out of warranty, it can run you some money, and sometimes, leave you just about where you were. Good luck, hope this helps.

MY DOG ATE THE CHARGER WHERE CAN I BUY A NEW ONE

A new one can be ordered through your video camera shop. Or probably a lot cheaper and quicker through Ebay. I've seen them for sale for around $10. Just make sure it's the right one for your camera. Buying one from a shop can set you back close to $100 depending on the model.
Now about the dog.......

Share: How to import .tod files from JVC Everio HDD Camcorder to iMovie?

Requirements: iMovie (Part of the iLife 08 package)

Step 1: Connect the Everio to the Mac (Via USB)
Make sure you are powering the Everio from the mains before connecting your JVC Everio Camcorder.

Step 2: Playback on PC
Select “Playback on PC” on the Everio, once connected you will see the Everio HDD symbol appear on the desktop. The video files on the Everio are stored in the SD Folder/PRG***/MOV***.MOD.

Step 3: Open iMovie
Once you open iMovie, you will see that it recognizes the Everio straight away and will attempt to import your video.

You are now ready to use iMovie to edit your video files.

If need change .tod files to common video formats like mov, mp4, m4v, mpg, mpeg, dv, flv, avi, wmv, 3gp, mkv, mp3, aac, wma, m4a, etc. Mod Tod Video Converter for Mac is a good choice. The program can also convert mod tod to ipod, mod tod to iphone, tod to apple tv, tod to blackberry and more devices!

NO SOUND TRANSFERS TOGETHER WITH THE VIDEO TO MY COMPUTER

This happened to me. I know the solution. I uninstalled everio mediabrowser program that came on cd with the camcorder. The result was that I could not hear the sound when I played my videos. If you install Everio Mediabrowser again, the audio will play.
