No 120v/240 output @twistlock recptacle
The big box home supply centers carry these. match up the current rating and voltage rating on the generator, then buy the receptacle to match.

I have a oil leak on a coleman generator
Most likely at the output shaft of the motor. If you are handy, you might be able to replace the crankshaft seal yourself, but this will probably require you to seperate the generator from the motor, and remove the cover holding the seal. If the leak is small, it may be best to just keep adding oil. If you have to take it to be repaired, it may be more expensive than the unit is worth.

Generator will not idle
Check that the choke isn't stuck...should be a small curved pin you slowly pull in and out. Check your manual for its location. If its stuck in one position that could be your problem. If you can't find your manual, do an online search; usually you can download one.

Coleman Powermate full throttle
There may be a choke handle that should reduce the engine RPM. Otherwise contact the Coleman technical support department.

How to flash a generator
Flashing is done by applying power from a battery via a diode momentarily to the slip rings or ABR field wires, note the polarity, and connection time 1-2 seconds. This is done when a unit has lost it's residual magnetism in the rotor laminates due to sitting for long periods.

Generator starts but then turns off and wont turn back on
Make sure the oil level is at capacity first, then turn off the generator power breaker bar that allows power to flow to the recepticals. The generator must be started with no amperage draw until warmed up. If this does not help, then there is a problem and likely the unit has been overloaded and needs servicing.

Hi i have a Black max, Powermate Generator model
You have excessive arching on the rotor slip rings by the sound of it, if you clean them and it works well then 3 hours later same problem? What is the conditon of the brushes? Also I trust youa r enot cleaning polishing them with sanpaper etc, they have a very fine finish and should be polished with a super fine grit paper or stone, pref while turning the engine. Any scratches won't work

The 220 outlet is only putting out power on one
What brand of generator and KW? If you onlyone leg of the 22V it us not likely to be the voltage regulator aor rotor. Check to make sure that the voltage is checked right off the stator leads, where they feed the circuit breaker, and not on the load side of the circuit breaker, If you only have 120V on one of the 240V lines at that point, it is the stator winding.
