You cannot parallel the windings, I assume it is a 240V system and you are attempting to do this to achieve more current at 120V you cannot do these and will damage the unit, the pitch of the stator windings are to achive out of phase 240V

Check to see if the fuel filter is clean or change it. If the screen in the bottom of the gas tank is clogged, that will do it too. If those solutions do not work, check the oil level and condition of oil, if it is low or dirty the low level switch will shut it down.

The voltage isn't adjustable on basic models, it is a product of engine speed and capacitor end the generator bell housing. Not sure what model you have?

Do NOT hookup to a dryer plug, it is dangerous to back feed a panel through a dryer plug. Besides dryer plugs (older ones) have a N and G combined in a 3 prong plug, new dryers and wiring have 4 prong where the N and G are correctly seperated. Do not backfeed !

Do NOT do this, it is dangerous and can cause carbon monixide death. All engine back pressures are calculated for a given exhaust and length. Increasing this can increase back pressure and cause leaks ! Not recommended

Check rotor again and measure to see if you have DC voltage on the brushes while running. If no then suspect capacitor

If it is the same as mine it is directly under the gas tank. There is a very small knob on the end of the elbow that will turn several revolutions to shut off the fuel.

Bad capacitor in the alternator field or a short in the rotor / stator

there is a rectangle shape cover on the rear of the generator head and strike a 9volt battery across the two terminals on the back and try it again

Had this on my Honda genny thought it was override switch turned out to be wire off inside cover of the genny connected back up works like a dream.....Try it, it may solve the problem..

first look at the oil level some generators have a low oil shut off then remove the front cover of the engine and unplug the small wire on the side of the coil then try to start it if you get spark back the its a wire problem if still no spark then the coil is bad

Check brushes, could have burned out the generator wiring.

Make sure your gas meter and piping are sized appropriately for the unit.

dirty jets in the carb will cause the rpm's to fluctuating
