If I cannot find the replacemnt part for the motor,we cannot remove the housing over the fan, looks like planned obsolesence to us! I will have 2 UV bulb replacements I just ordered from Brookstone for 20 each, will sell these to whomever would like them. KMWS

have you cleaned the connections where the filter connects . There is prob dust and dirt down inside the filter , keeping it from making a good connection. The zapping sound is from the electricty jumping the gap. A good cleaning of the inside should help. Try attaching a small hose to your vac to fit down inside the unit. give the electrical connections a good cleaning . If that dosen't work take unit apart and wipe down with alchol that you can buy at any drugstore

I cleaned the filters as well earlier and the red filter light still blincked to clean the filters. Then I pushed the power button for about 10 seconds continously and then turned it on and the light turned off.

I have a .pdf of the manual I can send you. I just run mine throught the dishwasher by themselves. The manual says to do that or hand wash them in the sink. Just make sure they are thoroughly dry before putting them back in.

If you google "uvc.10 watt" tons of places will show up that sell them, just pick a place that's all I do.

Put filter in bathtub, or sink if it'll fit, and swish it in the moderately hot soapy water, use can use dish soap. Then rinse off with moderately hot water but not scalding, then tamp it off onto a towel to get as much water off of it as you can. Your supposed to then let it dry for a while before reuse.

It sounds like the main board is not getting power. The power supplies have capacitors inside that do overheat and burn out. You can test power coming from power supply leading to main board with a voltmeter. You can try to unplug for 8 hours, in meantime while unplugged, press and hold power button for 5 seconds, then wait 1/2 hour and plug back in to see if unit has reset itself

make sure the filter is seated in the unit correctly there is a right and wrong way and unless the connection is made it won't start
