the above answers are correct and need to be done but make sure the batteries are CR2032 and NOT CR2032E batteries. My Taylor 7901 scale finally works! Thanks for the advice. I love fixya.com because they always have the correct answers!!!!

Same thing happened to me. I turned it upside down and removed the 7 Philips screws and popped the top off. There it was. One of the wires had come unstuck from the metal tabs inside. I soldered it back on and voila! Everything worked fine.

Hello. when the scale goes blank it is time to change the batteries. Turn the scale over and you will see the battery compartment. Take the batteries to Radio Shack or Walmart and get the same in the new ones. Then be sure to install them correctly regarding the polarity [ the + and the -]

That sounds to me like a sensor has either broken or is misplaced inside of the scale itself. I don't think repair/repossitioning it, is an option.

Step 1 Step lightly on the scale until it displays "--", "0000" and turns off if you receive the error "ERR0," which means the scale is not initialized. Initialization must occur after each battery installation. Step 2 Set the scale on a flat, even surface, not on surfaces such as carpet if you receive an error "ERR1." Step 3 Step off the scale and wait for it to reset before stepping on it again if you receive an "ERR2," which often means the unit was jarred or overloaded. Also, if you weigh more than the maximum weight capacity you will receive this error. Step 4 Remove your shoes and socks and wet your feet slightly with a damp cloth if you receive the "ERR3" error. ERR3 is a contact error and your feet should ideally be bare and wet to achieve an accurate body-fat reading. Step 5 Step off the scale and wait for it reset. 2. With one foot only, place just enough weight on the scale for the display shows zero's or dashes. Once you see zeros or dashes remove your foot.

Or, your scale may be on an uneven surface or on carpet. Be sure to place your scale on a hard, flat surface to get an accurate weighing.

That looks like ab INCREDIBLY long number for a model number. It looks like model and serial joined. Calibration is factory done and can't be done at home. You have to use a Government certified weight and they are very expensive. it means that it can't get a 0 point because it is unstable put it on a flat table or something and push re-zero (softly)
