Turn black knob to prime, to left! It should prime in about 1 to 2 mins, it will labour a bit, make sure the paint is flowing through the little clear tube , when it does it's primed! Then turn the knob to the spray mark, the spay length of tube ( usually red color) will vibrate a little bit, the spray gun is now ready to use, (gun on spray also). And spray away! Use water based paints its easier to clean! When done put inlet tube, with filter in a 5gal bucket of water turn to prime, then spray and run the 5gals of water through the spray gun this will also clean pump, hoses and and gun at the same time! When dry wipe nozzle of paint gun with a cotton cloth and remove any dried paint, make sure the needle is clean! Pull trigger a couple of times and observe the needle fit in the nozzle, clear hole etc! Regards Jeff Pp lent mine out to another contractor and now I have a priming problem! Never cleaned it right! So that's my next job, cleaning all the bearings to make the bearings seat properly and stop it sucking air! word of advice never lend your tools out! Unless there prepared to buy a new one to replace it!

IF you did what I think you did (as I did) the switch basically falls apart in your hand on on floor as you loosen the 4 screw that holds the spring loaded switch together. I was able to figure out how it reassembles but yet to put it back together for time sake. I plan to bench assemble the PS this week. IF all goes well I will post the results with some pictures. Is the smoke white, blueish, or black? White smoke is either raw fuel from a misfire or antifreeze from a bad head gasket, cracked head, etc. Blueish smoke is engine oil being burned which is a sign of worn/cracked rings. Black smoke is too much fuel being burned, bad timing, or maladjusted valves.
