Most likely it's the battery. If you can find someone else with the same system then maybe they could check it for you. Unfortunately, you have the 20 volt system which isn't nearly as common as the 18V. Or you could bring it to someplace like Batteries + Bulbs (If you have them around you) and they will tell you what's not working.

Have you tried going to dewalts web site and downloading the instruction manual.

Go to ereplacement.com and put in your model number and they should have a breakdown and should have the part.

A leaking seal. This may be covered under your warranty.

Alan, remove battery, use compressed air blow to help remove water, dry it out the best you can, maybe let it bake in the sun for the day. Then place in a plastic bag with a couple pounds of rice, this will get rid of all moisture, seal in bag a couple days and give it a try. Good luck. Mick, this could be a sign of a worn out/faulty motor, mine did this, ripped it apart and it was the motor. Yours may still be under 3 year warranty if you can find your receipt. if the battery is older than 1 year replace the battery with a new one , also I know its difficult but try to not charge a battery till its dead , short cycle charging of battery's kills em fast if battery is less than 1yr contact Milwaukee its still under warranty

Any dewalt similar type will be fine. A 18v NicD type dewalt one with this male socket is perfect.

It is totally normal if some oil came out the chuck because the grease due to the high heat becomes oil and came out from the chuck. It depends on the quantity it comes out. If it is a huge quantity then replace the grease.
