Stinky clothes are usually the result of washing in cold water. Cold water will NOT kill bacteria.
Add one cup of vinegar to the wash before you start the machine - try it.
The vinegar will kill the bacteria during the wash. Your wash will NOT smell of vinegar.
The dryer level of dryness on most auto dryers needs to be set three clicks toward + on most machines. LG is no different.
Have LG 1812 front load washer, it is making noise
Unscrew the drain pump filter counterclockwise to remove it from the pump assembly. If it cannot be removed, you need to replace the pump casing (part #3108ER1001B) and the pump filter (part #383EER2001A).
Disconnect power to the washer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.
Remove the two screws at the rear of the top panel attaching it to the cabinet. Slide the panel rearward then lift it off the washer.
Disconnect the control panel wiring harness from the main board assembly. Pull the dispenser drawer out until it stops then press the locking tab and pull the drawer out completely.
Remove the two screws from the drawer opening then lift the left side of the console and pull it off the cabinet.
Remove the three screws from the upper part of the front panel and the screw from the filter cover.
Insert a putty knife blade or similar flat tool in both sides of the filter cover then pull it out of the cabinet. Remove the screw from the lower side of the front panel.
Open the washer door and remove the wire and spring holding the door gasket to the outer lip of the door opening. Stretch the spring with a pair of needle-nose pliers to clear the wire off the lip of the door opening then remove the wire and spring assembly.
Peel off the door gasket into the drum then tilt the front panel and disconnect the door switch wiring harness from the door switch terminals. Lift the front panel and remove it from the cabinet.
Compress the spring clamps holding the pump inlet and outlet hoses then move the clamps away from the pump casing.
Remove the two screws securing the pump to the base of the washer. Press down the tab at the back of the pump assembly and push the assembly into the washer then lift the pump assembly up and out of the washer. Remove the hoses from the pump assembly.
Unscrew the pump from the casing and inspect the impeller for any damage. Rotate the impeller to check whether there's restriction. Replace the pump (part #4681EA2001D) if the impeller is broken or does not rotate freely.
Install the pump assembly and reassemble the washer by reversing the given disassembly steps.
I get an LE code. Looks like it only spins
You have a bad hall sensor(tach). Remove the back cover after unplugging the unt. Look on the bottom of the motor after removing the bolt on the rotor and sliding it off the spline Rotor=big gray round thing with bolt in center of shaft. It is magnetic. With rotor off you can see hsll sensor(where wires plug into motor) Remove all the 10 mm bpolts and motor will come off. Un snap hall sensor and snap new one on and reassemble unit
My washer says LE and hasnt drained all the water
I have the same issue - Had this washer for 6 yrs - up to now - it's been great. But, now I'm not sure what that problem is. Looks like the bin only spins counterclockwise - not clockwise. I can hear the motor trying to spin - then eventually I get the LE error code.
Water leaks on the floor, under washer. cleaned
Hello there:
There are several hoses that run under the washing machine that go to different pumps that could be getting loose from the machine operation over time
so and alos hoses are subject to failure due to wear and tear
So what you are going to have to do is to remove the front lower panel and use a flashlite and look to see where the leak is coming from
and then once yo have found where the leak is coming from you may be able to tighten the hose clamp if it is that is leaking and hopefully not he hose itself. and if it is the hose it'self that is leaking have to replace the hose ok
Hope this is very helpful for you
Lg front loader makes squeaking sound and
The drum is powered by a small motor and pulley, inside the unit and under the drum. A large belt wraps around the drum and pulley, and a spring "thing" provides tension so that the belt won't slip. The squeaking sound indicates that something is slipping, and the sluggish drum says that it's the drive belt. Take off the back, locate the motor/pulley/spring thing, and check the belt tension by observing the belt with unit operating. At that point you should easily locate the noise, at the motor (noisy bearing, lube or replace), belt warn (replace) or possibly the felt pads located at the top of the drum worn (not as likely but they do fail causing the drum to resist being spun by the motor to the point that the belt starts to slip. Hope this helps!
WM0642 SHAKING PROBLEMS
Hi,
The problem will in springs or the suspensions machines not working fine kindly check and replace the defective spares
Washing machine shuts off before cycle is finished
We have a front-loading LG washer. Today, I took a look at it when it
was beginning the spin cycle because it sounded a bit different. I
noticed that it was beginning to spin and would stop because [I
believe] it was detecting a strong off-balance. It would then try to
spin in the opposite direction and the same happened. After two more
attempts, it automatically shut off with no warning nor error. We set
the washer to wash and spin again and I began to work on balancing it.
After adjusting the feet and waiting for the spin cycle again, it
continued successfully because of the reduced off-balance. I'm not sure
if there are other reasons that would cause the washer to turn off. This is the only one I have come across so far.

The IE fault code indicates that your washer is not filling properly with water
Thanks!

My washer is leaking detergent from the tray on
YOU MEAN THE TRAY WHERE YOU PUT DETERGENT, BLEACH, AND FABRIC SOFTENER IN? IF SO, REMOVE THE TRAY OUT COMPLETELY. REACH INSIDE MAKE SURE THERE IS NOTHING IN THERE THAT COULD BLOCK THE WATER GOING INTO THE MACHINE VIA A HOSE. AND ALSO CHECK AND CLEAN YOUR TRAY. THE TRAY CAN BE DIS-ASSEMBLED TO CLEAN. RUN IN WARM WATER AND MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN THE WHOLE THING OF SOAP AND SOFTENER RESIDUE. DON'T FORGET THOSE TINY LITTLE HOLES ON THE TRAY AND THE REMOVABLE CAPS

Working fine till spin cycle
Hi,
Replace the Hall Sensor first. Unfortunately you can't test the sensor so you will just have to replace it and see if it fixes the problem. This sensor is actually clipped onto the stator motor itself in the back of the machine.
Hall Sensor that monitors the magnetic force of the stator motor. You have to remove the stater motor on the back of the washer to unclip this sensor.
Let me know, if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
LE Error code
Hello,
SOUNDS LIKE LOCKED ENGINE. SEVERAL DIFFERENT THINGS CAN CAUSE THIS ERROR CODE TO BE DISPLAYED.
1ST, USING THE WRONG SOAP WILL CAUSE THIS PROBLEM - USE HE SOAP ONLY!!! - IF YOU HAVE BEEN USING THE WRONG SOAP, BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO RUN A FEW SHORT CYCLES WITH HOT WATER ONLY - THIS SHOULD HELP IN REMOVING ANY SOAP RESIDUE FROM THE SOAP SENSOR AND BOOT AREA.
2ND, THE CONTROL BOARD MAY BE DEFECTIVE - YOU NEED TO CHECK VOLTAGE OUTPUTS TO VERIFY.
3RD, BE SURE TO CHECK THE WIRING HARNESS - IT HAS BEEN KNOWN THAT WIRES SOMETIMES BECOME FRAYED AND LOOSE RESISTANCE.
4TH, THE SOAP SUDS SENSOR MAY BE FAULTY AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.

Fabric Softener dispenser is holding water that
remove soap drawer and dismantle softener syphon assy , clean and reasemble , whilst drawer is out check water jets in roof of soap container , clean all but especially ones over the conditioner compartment, replace drawer and re-try.
Washer will not drain. I can hear the pump
Hi,
To make sure the pump is working properly, open the filter. If you have water left in the machine, this will gush out once you twist open the filter, so be prepaired for that.
Most LG font loaders have a thin drain tube next to the filter cap, you can drain the water out slowly into a bucket before hand.
Once you have taken the filter out, Start the machine on the "Drain" or "Spin Cycle. Look into the filter cavity with a torch and see if the pump propelors are spinning properly and that they havent brocken off from the motor shaft.
Please dont stick your fingers in there whilst it is running. If the pump seems to be turning O.K. then the only other thing which I can think of is a coin which has blocked off or closed off one of the hoses.
I have seen cases where the diameter of a coin is exactly the same as the drain hose, and once lodged in there, it makes a perfet wall and blocks water flow.
You will need to check all the hoses individually by taking them off. First remove the hose leading out from under the tank going to the water pump. Then the drain hose going from the pump to your sink or drain. Sometimes it may be easier to lay the machine on its back and access the hose from underneath the machine.
Take note of how the hoses are joined on so that you can put them back on as they were.
Good luck
