Place a piece of magnetic material at the edge of the lid, for the wf-s6697tc model.
Standing in front of the washer, it is slightly off centre to the right (at the edge where the lid covers, space between the wording speedy soak & fuzzy). If you pay attention to the lid, you might notice some brownish rust stain.
This is where they place the magnet.
There sure should be....why, because mine stopped working as well. Found magnet inside machine after getting rid of water on spin cycle (thankfully it still allows the water drain to occur). Put magnet back on and hey presto, all good.....if only I had taped it on as 5-6 washes later and it has fallen off and I can't find it - hopefully a standard magnet will be enough to fix from shops - I am sure LG or proper repair place sells them for a fortune :(
