If you have a memory card in the phone...take it out. then turn take out the battery. Turn it back on. And if that works. its because you have a virus and or corrupted file on that memory card. Same thing happened to me. But now the screen is all messed up everytime i slide it open or closed.

I called Sprint about this same issue yesterday. I was told by Sprint that the LG Rumors that were made before April of 2008 have a "known issue" with the screen. They said to return it to the store where I purchased it and it will either be fixed or the entire phone replaced free of charge.

I called the store where I purchased the phone (Wireless Giant) today and they agreed. They already had the part on order (a cable) and are fixing my phone on Tuesday, no questions asked.

I FOUND THE PROBLEM! You need a CoreMicro Micro SD Adapter and the USB that goes with it. Mine said it was right-protected until a person on a website told me to move a white switch upwards on the adapter. Holding the Adapter facing you, make sure the switch on the left side is moved upwards. Put it in the USB port, and then into the computer jack. Go to WMP (windows media player) and go to your library. Right-click any song and click the "go to file location" button. That way you are at the actual file location and not a link to it for playing. You see a list of all the songs you have at the raw source. Make a folder and name it "Music". Drag the songs you want on your phone into the folder. They will disappear from the menu into the folder but not from the computer so you still have the music files on your computer. With the Music file in view, right-click and go to the "Send to" button and click on the "Removable Storage" button (or something that looks similar but the same words). A loading screen should pop up and start loading the files. You are done! Remove the USB and the Adapter, put the memory card in and charge er' up! It worked for me and i hope it works for you. mine did this and I fixed it really fast.
So there's a circle piece and a little metal wire sticking out of it. On the tip of the wire is a little black cirlce.
what you have to do is get the wire and circle back inside the phone.
you do this by pulling on the wire gently until the metal circle has almost disappeared. When the metal circle piece is almost entirely out of sight, slide the phone back to it's original postition (aka no keyboard). Unslide it and it should be almost as good as new.

The LG Rumor is a Sprint CDMA device. This means that it is activated on a network using the Electronis Serial Number programmed into the device. Once the device is powered up, it registers to the network and if that ESN doesnt match an active acct, then no service, and you may get a message asking you to activate your device. Sim cards are only in GSM devices (not including nextel and a few devices that have been dubbed world phones, allowing them to work on both CDMA and GSM services.)

So, all this was to explain simply that you can never put a sim card in a LG Rumor. There is nowhere for it to go. SRY!!!!!

The simplest way to do this is to:

1. Download and install BitPim from www.bitpim.org.
2. Start BitPim
3. Tether the phone to your PC with a standard micro USB cable (like the one that comes with a Droid or newer BlackBerry). BitPim will autodetect the VX5500.
4. Go to the View menu and select "View Filesystem".
5. Browse to the brew / mod / 10888 folder, right-click on each jpg file in the right pane, and select "Save" to save them to a folder on your computer

Unfortunately, you need to save the pictures one by one, so if you have a lot of pictures it will take a while. But hey, it's free and you're sticking it to Verizon.

hello,kindly check if it is inserted properly,you will see a directive arrow on the memory card to show you how it is to be inserted,if after you have inserted it correctly and it still does not sees it,i would suggest you suspect your memory card is corrupt if their is any message displaying on your mobile phone screen,and if it does not show any message like memory card corrupted,then you will have to visit a mobile phone repair expert to help you change the memory card slot,after this your mobile phone will now read your memory card.

If you have forgot the codes for your mobile you can unlock it by using the last four digits of your phone number or four zeros. If these codes are not working you can contact your network service provider to get the unlock codes.
If you need to reset your mobile then press the "Menu" button,from main menu scroll to "Settings/Tools" and select the option by pressing the center "Menu/OK" button.Scroll to "Settings" and select.Scroll and select "More".
