LG VX8350 Cellular Phone - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Bluetooth Problem
Radios get old, the components age, and the radio needs to be re-tuned. It is probably working only at very close range, due to the reduced power from age. The BT radio was not designed to be tuned up. You may need to get a new phone to regain that functionality.
Try putting the BT device very close to the phone, see if that works.

On power up, why does it indicate 'use genuine battery', then shuts off?
U are not using an original LG battery. They have some sort of chip inside them for ID purposes. When you use another battery, even though it fits properly, the phone will not charge the battery!!!!
On my LG the off brand battery works but I have to use a universal charger to do the deed and not the phone. It appears LG has taken it one step further by not even allowing you to use a non LG battery!
That really bites!!!!!!!!!

Forgot unlock
you can try to do *22899 which will sometimes reset it to the last four of your phone number
if this does not work, take it to the verizon store and ask a rep to hook it up to the PST machine and get the code for you, please find a knowledgeable rep to do this

Broken charger
if it is a broken charger, buy a new charger
if it is a broken charging port, get a universal battery charger
if your battery is swollen or showing water damage, buy a new battery
also check the battery date code, cause batteries expire after a while and this phone is on the older side

Calls
I would go to your cell phone provider and ask what is going on with your cellular service. Or get a completely different cell phone with a new provider.

LG vx8350r hinge is broken
My VX8350 broke on the right side too. Actually it cracked and the pieces, 2 if I remember correctly, kind of were just hanging there (in other words I did not loose any pieces of plastic). I did a very careful repair and it has held now for about 1.5 years with no problems and I've even dropped the phone about 4 times or more since the repair.I used the CA glue, (cyanoacrylate glue or some know it as instant glue). But be careful so you do not glue your hands to the phone. Use VERY LITTLE glue cause it WILL wick into places you do not want it to go. Lastly, you have to index the metal piece in the hinge (use a hefty pair of tweezers) before gluing so the spring with work correctly and hold the phone either open or closed. If you error on the indexing, try to error on the side which will keep your phone tightly closed when closed and just barely short of fully open when open. That way you won't be catching the closed phone on things with it hanging partially open. It doesn' t cause any problems being just a tiny bit short of fully open. So, open the phone, carefully tilt the two halves to expose the metal hinge, index the hinge, carefully rotate the two halves back to their proper position and carefully test the opening and closing action. If it's good, or good enough, then put the chunk(s) that broke loose back into position and while holding everything in place put a TINY bit of CA on one of the cracks. This should setup very quickly (hence the name instant glue) and if you can still remove your finger from the phone, do so, and put a tiny bit of CA on any other areas or other cracks where the glue did not wick to. Remember to use very little glue for this or you'll be sorry and your phone won't work. If you did this properly, your phone will now open and close like it did before...or very close to it. Good luck.

WHERE IS MY CHIP SO
When you open your phone go to the right side and there will be a button and a little lower than that a flip socket. If you open that by pulling out, and push in the middle, the chip should pop out. If you have any more trouble the place where you get your new phone should be able to help you.

I think my phone may
This can be easily caused by one failed cell in the battery pack. Any cheap multimeter would let you check the pack's voltage in seconds.
I advise everyone to own one of the cheap Chinese meters (under $20 US; sometimes WAY under- check eBay) before they stop taking our worthless money.
Look for 'digital multimeter.'
You can also buy them in auto parts stores and, of course, Radio Shack.
They are simple to use and very handy to have around your car or home.

No sounds . no voice . no noise on numbers. cannot
take it your phone has been dropped a couple times? lol..
Does the screen work normally? either way if you havent fixed this yet (seeing as this is 23 days old as i post) your going to have to take your phone apart. you can try the easy way and take the bottom half apart but dont try to take the screen off. there is a flimsy ribbon cable that runs from the top corner of the bottom half through the hinge that is easier than heck to break. after you get the bottom half apart try pressing down on the plug of it to see if it is loose then try your phone again.
the reason i asked if the screen is working is because that one cable usually handles everything in the top half and when one thing in an electrical device (expecially a small one that has a bunch of tiny components) doesn't work there can be no telling what else will go with it
