there are 2 ways to attempt it. 1/ you need the diagram of your mother board as it involves changing a jumper setting on the board to clear the pass. 2/there is a small round battery inside ( could be under a cover under the laptop ) unplug that battery for a while to clear the cmos. hope this helps

What are you doing when it freezes? When you touch the surface of the laptop is it very hot?

The hard disk is crashed or erased. Need to reinstall the operating system or restore from backup.

It might be possible that there is some problem with the power options of your computer.Please explain the problem completely.

Try connecting an external monitor and check if it has the same issue. If it does, then replace the LCD.

A burning smell is a good indication that some component burnt up. Could be a fan and that would cause it to shut down. If it's hung on the logo I would start by removing the memory, hard drive and optical drive and see if it boots past the logo. If it does then power down and add one item back in and test again until you find the bad part. Can you hear the fan spinning when you power it on?

First is there a security code to connect to your wireless access point? This is YOUR home wireless? Is your wireless adapter enabled, and working properly on the laptop? Reboot the wireless access point by removing th AC plug and wait 30 seconds,plug in, wait for the device to self-test. Cold-start your laptop, unplug. remove battery, plug in, reboot. This sounds like a ram memory issue, sub out the ram stick one at a time, no change, take out the second piece and replace the first, if the problem goes away it is the ram stick in your hand that needs to be replaced.
