You need to download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP or Vista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Use this link to download the drivers: - www.compaq.com/country/cpq_support.html
You can either use your recovery discs that came with the computer and re-boot the computer with the disc in the drive. The computer should ask you to"press any key to boot from cd" when re-booted. If it does not you will need to go into the BIOS and change the first boot device to the cd-rom drive. Or if your computer did not come with any recovery discs you can use the recovery program if it is built into the hard disc drive. You can usually activate this by pressing "alt" then "f10" when the computer first starts up. Sometimes the computer will tell you what to press to enter recovery mode when it first boots up.

Hi, u need to clarify the model of ur laptop, pretty easy to find.
the type of the model is c700, but to get u the drivers u need to know exactly which c700 is it. On the bottom part of ur laptop there is a service tag and some bar codes. it should say something like mine:
Product: Presario F500
s/n: CNF70826RD
p/n: GB123LA#ABM
F505LA(THIS IS THE MODEL)
With this u go to the hp homepage, support and drivers and there u can find any driver u need.
Hope to hear from u soon, if u dont find it, ill recomend u a software that downloads it for u.
see underside of laptop, remove the smaller of the two panels(unscrew it) remove memory card(it looks different than the standard PC desktop memory units), replace it with original RAM-upgrade from the laptops manufacturer(expensive !) put backk the panel and reboot.
If your OS is XP, Vista, or better, try going to your Device Manager. Locate the device, right click on it and select Uninstall. Close all windows, reboot, and the installer will automatically reinstall it for you.
Good luck!
