I recently got this tv from somone because of this exact problem. I have found a solution that works for mine. You can check to see if it works for you also. What I did was take of the back cover. 3 screws (1 big one in the center and 2 little ones below it). Next look at the power board. If plugged in and turned on the red light on the power board should be lit up. If so your power board is fine. Next find the component that has 4 switches. I manually turned these on and turned the tv on and it worked! Has been working ever since!

Try 1431 - it's a Poloroid code since some Memorex tvs are similar

The power board has been manufactured by Proview, and is used on Memorex, Polaroid, and Bush TVs
Here is part from Sears for $45: Pcb, power-only .
The original part had been discontinued , and it is difficultly available. It has been replaced by part PROVIEW IPOS 150 REV:1.8 200-P00-HM150H (RRP $170).

In case the original PWB is not available from Sears parts , then you will need to buy the more expensive compatible replacement . Here is the part for $114.

If you mean a firmware update to the MLTD3222, there is no way for a user to update this TV with built-in DVD player. The manufacturer doesn't provide updates and has no way to access them from a DVD, USB flash drive or SD card. "SOUND"<<< you mean beep code? follow the beep guidelines.... common error is either RAM or Video failure.

Check if you got a picture somewere in the dark screen. If you got anything moving but very dark, then you need a new invertor. If its totally dead you need a new card inside the tv. Its a job for a pro.
