I followed the TV manual

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, determine and postback the model number of the Toshiba laptop. Additionally, describe how the laptop is connected to the Memorex MLT3221 TV; HDMI, DVI, VGA, S-Video or composite video (yellow jack) and what version of Windows.

Offhand, have you tried:
  • temporarily lowering the laptop's Screen resolution (in the Display Properties/Settings);
  • temporarily lowering the laptop's Screen refresh rate to 60Hz (in the Display Properties/Settings/Advanced/Monitor);
  • cycling through the available display options using Fn + F? keys. The F? would be the Function Key with the small monitor/TV icon in blue. Choices are - built-in LCD only, LCD + external (TV), TV only;
  • in some models/version, TV display would have to be enabled as a 2nd monitor (in the Display Properties/Settings).

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Wont show picture

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

I pushed a button on the TV and the screen went

The backlight inverter board may have gone out, or it is not getting the power from the main power supply section that supplys the power to the inverter board. Those are the two places to check.

I have a 32 hd tv and it just went to a blank

Most likely the inverter PCB has stopped working this board is located on the far left looking at it from the back. Check Partstore.com. They probably have what you are looking for. P/N 27.14240.027. Thanks for using fixya.

How do you reste all inputs on the mlt3221. I lost

Check your manual for a reset option, but you can press MENU on the side of the television, and you will have to navigate up and down the menu items by using the VOLUME buttons for going up and down, and the CHANNEL buttons for going in and out of your menu selections. There is a manual available @ http://memorex.com/downloads/manuals/MLT3221-BLK_QSG_manual.pdf. Hope this helps!

TV on blink

G'Day!

Unfortunately, what you're describing is a repair issue. You won't be able to address the problem with troubleshooting. There is a part inside the TV that needs to be replaced. If you're under warranty, this will cost you nothing. If you're not under warranty the cost will likely be a minimum of $200 parts and labor. However, be warned that the cost could be considerably higher.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please post a comment if you need additional assistance so that I can help you further.

My 32 inch Memorex LCD

Sounds like either an IC needs to be replaced of the video processor. Either way, this problem will have to be tracked down and the parts tested and replaced and since this isn't a very common problem, I recommend having a qualified shop do it or if the tv is still in warranty, then send it back to the manufacturer or return it to the store and get a different one. No easy fix, I'm afraid. Let me know how this turns out.

I hooked up my computer,I get a picture but no

You need to attach your sound card to some sort of audio device... speakers, a receiver attached to speakers, or the audio input on your TV. The connection you are currently using sounds like a video only connection.

Memorex MLTD222

I work for Memorex tech support. Our number is 800-919-3647.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but the problem you've described can't be fixed with troubleshooting. Your TV needs to be repaired. There is a part that has developed a defect and needs to be replaced. That television has a one year warranty from the date of purchase. If you bought an extended service plan, your warranty coverage would be longer through the company offering the warranty. However, if you're no longer in warranty, you will have to pay for the cost of repair yourself. The total cost of repair will likely be a minimum of $200 and could exceed $400 depending on which circuit board needs to be replaced.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

TV will not turn on. Went dead shortly after turning on can't get it to turn on again. Seems like it is not getting AC. Yes its plugged in and there is juice to the socket.

If the red ring in front of tv is not lit when it is plugged in it is probably the power pcb. I just ordered one from searspartsdirect.com part # 860-AZO-IPOS150H FOR $45 plus shipping. installed today and everything is fine.
