It could be many things, so these are only guesses:

1) power cord loose, power connector damaged

2) Incorrect screws used for mount (too long) have damaged internals of the TV.

3) vibration of installing mount has somehow caused an internal component to come loose.

Do you have a different audio source to test with (such as a tape player or vcr?) . That way you can verify if the DVD player is putting out audio versus whether the TV audio input is bad, or if the TV is configured to use HDMI for audio input.

Some TVs give you a setup menu option where the audio comes in through the HDMI port versus the (RCA) component ports. If yours is like that, then you should be able to switch that in the TV menu.

try a universal remote or replace with new origional remote you can order. If no remotes work on tv, your infared sensor may be faulty

Proscan is an Thompson Electronics Product (RCA) Most RCA service centers will fix proscan. check locally for an rca dealer.

I have this model (ProScan 26LB30QD) and recently removed the base. There are 4 phillips head screws on the rear panel of the TV just above the base. Remove them, pull the TV from the base, and replace the screws in case you need to use the base in the future. I suspect the problem others are having is that they only removed 2 of the screws.

Sounds like your resolution on your computer is set too high for your tv to accept. Try putting your computer resolution down to 1024x768 or lower and see if that works.

if there is a stanby switch for the remote, turn it off. wait for a few minutes then turn it on. operate the remote.

You have to buy a universal remote. Unless there is a menu button on the TV. If there is a menu button on the TV, first make sure an antena is connected. Preferably the kind for digital signals, but not necessary. Now go to the menu, and find the channel set up, then choose auto. It will start looking for channels automatically.

No one that I know of broadcast in 1080p yet. Only Blue-Ray DVD's. The set can't produce what's not there.

Go into your menu under Audio, it should be there, navigate to turn it off.

hey, this shouldn't be too hard to fix... go under like a set up menu... then click like screen size or screen width. or something along the lines of the picture's size.then you just resize it from there once you find the size settings its pretty self explanitory and straight foward...

I'm not sure what TV you have but many times you can enter 5898 as the password and then it will allow you to select a new one. I hope it works on yours.

Tools needed for the repair. 1 small screw driver and 1 small plastic pry bar. you may also need the use of a small solering iron to seperate the power supply wiring from the main board assembly. There are usually small screws in the back of the unit that must be removed first. When all the screws are taken out you must use a small plastic pry bar to separate the top and bottom sections of the remote. This will usually expose the electronic switch pad that is used to do all the interaction with the electronic controls of the remote.Below these keypads are the actual switches that perform the function. This is usually a small circuit board with a small battery operated power supply on a main circuit board. This is the board that will be having the problem with the control. You should test it first to make sure the malfunction is not some mechanical problem between the switch cover and the switches. Also check the switch to make sure the point of contact is clean and clear .IF this is all working fine. Then you need to replace the unit. The switch is probably damaged internally and cannot be repaired. Replace the switchboard with the new one and reconnecting to the battery power supply.
