Try removing the clips from both ribbon cables and re seat them, if that doesn't fix it chances are the Tcon board has failed

Be sure that the setting in the TV is set to "AIR" NOT CABLE. After switching back, you'll probably have to re-scan. I'd bet that one of your connectors isn't crimped quite right. A single strand from the shield can kill the signal completely. If the center wire is too short or too long it can kill the signal. It should extend 1/16" to 1/8" beyond the threaded barrel part.

If only one channel is affected it is not a problem usually with the set--it does not know what channel you are on---look in audio menu and make sure if set has SAP it is not on.

if as it appears a LCD and problem is half screen is "blurred" the set uses two (or one large) boards and each drives the picture on half the screen---could be one bad, poor connection or worst case defect in screen unit (display panel) which would be fatal.

This tv problems it is causes by a bad dying board that call the T-CON decodering board.This T-CON decodering board sit at the bottom in the middle of the LCD screen panel.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish T-CON decodering board for the replacement.

Your problem lies in the board that handle the video processing. Unfortunately, I serched all the vendors I know and this part is no longer available.

Perhaps an easy fix. Remove the back of the flat screen. There will be a main circuit board visible. There will be several capacitors, cylinders with a cross hatch on the silver top. Do any of them look like they have a dimple created by expansion of the internal capacitor material over heating? If you see an expanded top...that's probably your problem. Get your solder gun out and replace that capacitor. You can order a new one off of Amazon. If yours is a 10 volt capacitor, consider replacing it with a 16 volt unit. Generally the electronics companies under design the size of these units. When you replace the capacitor take note of the silver band on the unit and where its placed in the two socket holes....there is a positive and negative hole placement.

All TV have boards that control vertical and horizontal output to their respective areas. They are connected to the screen by ribbon cables. If one of these boards fails all together, has a failed chip, a bad connection, or a bad ground somewhere it will result in a black line in the area of that board. A bad ribbon cable connection on the bottom will result in a vertical black bar though the screen. Many times reseating the connection will fix it, if the ribbon cable has been nicked there could be a severed connection. They an sometimes be fixed, but it is a pain. An yes I have done it, but the bar is gone. The same will happen if the chip that outputs to that area opens. The connectors are the first place to look paying close attention to the cable, they are extremely delicate so great care must be taken if you decide to tinker with em, the usually have lift locks that release them, but it is very easy to wreck em.

I have the same problem which started at about 10 months and became full blown after 14 months and now the warranty is up. TOSHIT BA 52u645

My 52 in regza has a vertical line on the right side as well just under 2 years old, out of warranty and to costly to repair, I paid $2500 as well. The TV has been on its stand since the day I bought it and has been moved once.
I have read of others who have this problem as well, just google toshiba regza red line, or vertical line

It junk now,only good for now,it only use for electronics componnents parts.LCD Screen replaced will exeed the new tv.Tv companies well not sell out LCD screen cheap,90% the tv is the LCD Screen and it limited amount when they produce it.

Good wireless headphones have "line in" cable with 2 RCA plugs, which must be attached to TV's "audio out connectors. If you have only "optical" or "coaxial" audio stream out, you must upgrade your "wireless" gear to accommodate those signals. Forget about "headphone" jack! It's a blast of the past!Thanks,Alex.
