I get an E.5.C. message

For wireless printer like these you need to make sure that it is connected and configured already to your existing wireless network. If not yet better connect the printer to your computer via USB and then run the setup disc and follow the setup wizard to setup the wireless.

remove/uninstall the printer device, disconnect it from the PC, re-start PC TWO times, then RE-connect and re-install the printer.

I got around the "blank description" error by repairing lexmark's .deb file.It is too many steps.Here goes:Run their installation .sh script.Do NOT press OK at the error.Pull up a terminal editor.cd /tmp/self*tar xvpf arch.tarmv lex*deb /homecd /homethen go over to http://superuser.com/questions/280370/how-to-easly-edit-control-file-in-deb-packageand see a nice little script which you can save to a file called xsh x(edit the control file so the Description: has one line here. delete the rest.)save it and the script rebuilds the .debIf you can read the script you could do it all manually which I did.then do:dpkg -i lexmark-inkjet-08-driver-1.0-1.i386.debto install the lexmark driver.Yay it works!Lexmark did a blank line in the Description and then a big paragraph with how they built the .deb file. The above simply fixes that Description to one line instead of a paragraph and rebuilds their .deb file.

Unplug the printer from the power source to turn it off. Open the printer cover to access the cartridge area. If you see the paper jam, slowly and carefully pull the paper out of the printer. Avoid tearing the paper or avoid leaving torn pieces in the printer. This will cause future paper jams in the printer.
When all is clear, re-plug the printer into the power source. Load some paper and try to print again.
