Lexmark X3650 Printer - Page 7 Questions & Answers
When i press the scan button it says downloading
Make sure the scan software is already installed in your computer. If not, install it using the installation cd that came with your printer. If scan software is already installed and was working before, you can uninstall and reinstall the software. Check your firewall. Make sure to allow all Lexmark communications to go through. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Printer is ripping paper, and getting jammed
Most likely you have something on the roller or jamming it. I have disassembled printers to find paper, paper clips, and other things helping to jam the paper roller. Try to clear the obstruction by checking around the roller anyway you can. As I said, sometimes you have to take the printer apart to get to the problem. Sometimes it's a bad gear, so it can get a bit tricky. It's your call- you might try to unjam it, and if that fails, replace it- they're pretty reasonable these days, anyway. Good luck!

How do i change print cartridge?
Plug in your printer, turn it on, then lift cover from front, not just scanner cover, reach lower. Carriage will move back and forth a few times before settling in middle of printer. Pull forward on both levers to release covers over print cartridges. Lift up on cartridge on end closest to you and then pull toward you and up to remove cartridges.Remove tape from new cartridges and install as per instructions on box new cartridges came in or just reverse removal instructions.
How to scan photos from a lexmark x3650 to
You must install the scanner software that came on your installation disc. If you do not have it you can download it from Lexmark itself. Without the software installed the computer has no idea that your printer has scanning capability.Once you are done you should be pleased, I have always gotten good scans from my Lexmark products.

Purchased 36xlcartridge
If this is a refilled cartridge, most likely the electronics have been turned off on the cartridge. I own a cartridge refilling store and I don't refill the Lexmark 36 or 37 because the printers turn off the electronics on these cartridges when they get empty so they can't be refilled. If this is an original Lexmark cartridge, I think that Lexmark is making their printers so extremely sensitive to refills that they even kick out some original manufacturer cartridges. I have had a couple customers that this has happened to and it seems to happen more frequently with prebate cartridges. I recommend exchanging your cartridge for a new one (Lexmark brand).
I have never used my scanner yet. I am currently
Its looking to associate an application to itself that it can send the images to. Most all in one printers provide software for this purpose. You have to install the software that came with your unit
Had printer working with desktop,
Hi there,
Well it's better if you tell me which operating system you are using....?
anyway please follow the below steps to communicate your printer to the desktop -
1. Check if your printer is network ready. Many newer models are designed to work on networks. Examine the documentation to see if your printer supports Wi-Fi (802.11x) or Bluetooth.
2. Add network support to your printer. If your printer is not already wireless you can connect it to a wireless router using the RJ-45 Jack (it resembles a large telephone jack). You can also buy an expansion card that will add a jack or buy an external print server that will connect to the USB or parallel port.
3. Connect your printer to the network. If your printer is not wired, you’ll have to connect it directly to your wireless router. Connect a networking cable from the RJ-45 Jack on the printer (or adapter) to the router. Plug it into any jack except the UPLINK. The printer should automatically connect to the network when turned on.
4. Install printer drivers on all computers. Using the disc that came with the printer or drivers downloaded from the manufacturer, install the printer’s drivers onto each computer on the network.
5. Print. You should be able to access the printer just like any other wireless device. Select the printer from the Print menu when you print.
Share Your Printer in Windows
1. Install the printer. Set up the printer as normal on a machine that is already connected to the wireless network. Connect all necessary cables and install all necessary drivers.
2. Open the printers and faxes folder. Click "Start," then "Control Panel," then "Printers and Other Hardware" and then "Printers and Faxes."
3. Share your printer. Find the icon for the printer you just installed. Click the icon once and then select SHARE THIS PRINTER in the tasks pane on the left. Now, right click the icon, select properties and go to the SHARING tab. Click "Share Name," and then click "Okay."
4. Connect to the printer. On the other computers within the network, open the control panel and click "Printers and Other Hardware." Select "Add a Printer."
5. Select "Printer Connection." When prompted, select this option instead of the local printer. Find and select the printer you just installed and select it.
6. Print as normal. Next time you print a page, send it to your networked printer.
Good Luck!!
Thanks
I need to reinstall my wireless 3600-4600 series
You're best bet is to go to lexmark.com so you can get the proper drivers and programs to run the printer properly. If they don't have them on line they should be able to send you a disc to install the printer.
How do I clear a paper jam?
Check where the paper comes out and also remove the paper tray and check underneath the printer as paper can be stuck there aswell. Ensure that you remove the whole piece of paper.
