1. fold down the bypass tray on the right
2. hit grey button on right door to open it

There is no trick, you just need to put it back properly until it is completely set in. Make sure it is the compatible drum though! If you are sure that it is compatible but can't fit it, remove it and try it again and apply a little force.

Set-up for this copier sure isn't well-documented. No need developer.When your machine need developer,it show developer signal.blank page print means,charger problem please check corona wear may be it broken or displace.

Hi, Hope you up to it, it not hard just messy.

To replace the dev the first thing we need to do it remove the developer unit, this done by opening the side door where the manual feed and then also open the front door, and remove toner cartridge and place on paper.

With the front door open you should be able to spot the dev unit with the toner hopper attached, their is one screw you will need to undo to allow the unit to come out of the machine. Remove the toner cartridge and place on paper

Now cover the work area, I use newspaper on customers floor or steal some big sheets of paper from the paper cassette and place a few on the ground because it can get messy...

Once you have the dev and toner hopper out we need to remove the toner hopper from the dev unit, there should be a few brass screws to allow the toner off the top of the dev tank

Put the toner hopper aside and we need to clean out the powder from inside the dev unit, it sticks to it via magnetism, so first I normally spill as much out on to the paper from the edge away from gear, and then while turning the developer driver gear clockwise, brush the rest out, it takes a bit, a few shakes, turns and brushes, but we need this old stuff out of the unit. I carry a vacuum, but it is designed for toner, I think it has a smaller filter where as normal ones tend to die from the metal filings in the dev..but if you have and old one then **** away, just don't scratch the magnetic roller with the tip

Once we have this clean, a little shake of the bag of new dev, rip the corner and pour it all in, if you run out of space or like halfway threw pouring turn the magnetic dev roller clockwise with the gear, this takes up the dev to allow you to put it all in, as we must.

Ok, clean the edges of the dev unit and refit the toner hopper, making sure it is fully down on the dev unit before refitting the brass screws,, refit the dev to the machine, keeping it level we do not want to spill it, it is important, fit its screw back in and slide in the toner cartridge, close the covers, and we need to then put in a couple of codes...

Put on the power, machine will run up for a bit, stirring the dev and mixing in toner, once we are at ready we can reset the developer counter.

Dev counter reset

Press "Clear" - "Interrupt" - "Zero" - "Interrupt". Machine will blank off
.(must be done quick)
Use the number buttons to make display read "42". Press "Print" button.

Machine will flash 00

Use quantity buttons to make display read "01". Press "Print" button.

Machine will flash 000

Press "Clear" - "Clear" - "Clear" - "Clear" and power machine off and back on.

If the maintenance counter needs to be reset too (indicater light is showing.)

Machine will flash 00.

Press "Clear" - "Clear" - "Clear" - "Clear" and power machine off and back on.

Clean up the mess we made, the stuff vacs up pretty well, I've tested that a few times, if it does get spilt, you will need another dev, if the level isn't correct it effects the print density...
