it is more than likely that it is a ceramic insert and they do handle grit , dirt or anything else very well
the fix here will be to remove that ceramic insert and clean out anything that is found
a point of interest here is this
one small section equals all the pipe is in the same condition
you should consider replacing all of the gal pipe with either copper tubing or high pressure plastic pipe
The swing mixer handle has become very stiff. how
The first solution is of course correct. However I found it almost impossible to remove the spout assembly. It was very stiff and it was difficult to get any leverage to force it off without damaging the finish to the tap as a whole or damaging the sink. What I found was that if you poured boiling water over the tap/faucet it eased the stiffness and having done this several times - ie about 5 kettle loads of hot water, I managed to remove the spout. It helps if you reconnect the hose directly to the outlet under the sink (ie not via the faucet). THis allows you to run cold water through the tap whilst pourung boiling water over the outside of the tap. The cold water shrinks the copper/brass components whilst the hot water expands the spout assembly.Once off, it is possible to clean the inside of the assembly to remove corrosion or calcium deposits to say nothing of old "O" rings.I also used a kettle descaler between dousing with boiling water in the hope that some of it would seep down within the assembly. It took me three attempts to do this. I was almost going to spend UK pounds 430 or US dollars 670 and buy a new unit. So do not give up and I hope this helps. It swings backward and forward now perfectly.
Have a Blanco single-handle pull-out faucet with
Unscrew the part where the water comes out and remove the enterior parts paying close attention to how and the order in witch the come out so you can clean everything good and put it back together and pay close attention to the twist switch and how it operates. This shought fix the problem your having.
Faucet is about 3 momths
could be 3 things.
1. a piece of crud has gotten stuck in the valve somewhere (or even in the shutoff below). If you have older pipes or water that has bit of scale in it it could be that. These can be easy hard to remove.
2. mechanical failure in faucet, the lever moves but the valve inside is not moving or has come apart in some way
3. you might have floodsafe hoses going to the sink. these have a shut off to stop the flow if they break.
If no water at all is coming out of either hot or cold, then try removing one of the supply lines, shut both hot & cold off first and then disconnect one from the sink, see if water comes out when you turn on the shutoff
it may be a floodsafe connector
HERE is the webpage to show what they look like and how to reset them. if you do not and still no water comes out try working the shutoff a few times. be ready with a bucket and towels.
if you have water to the faucet, then the problem is there. If you installed it yourself you can go back and begin to dismantle it. make sure the water is shut off. take the handle off and see if it is connected to the valve itself. if a part is not obviously broken you can disassemble it further, but I would really recommend taking it back and getting a replacement. you should be well within the warranty period.
if there is a little bit of water coming out try unscrewing the aerator. the last thing the water goes through, it generally just unscrews with hand pressure. often this part gets gunked up. remember which part went where and which way it faced.
hope this helps

I've removed the grub screw from the handle

If the screw is completely removed then your probably correct about the corrosion. Since you cannot readily access the corrosion to apply some 3 in 1 oil, you'll need to apply a bit of force to pull it up and off. A flat tip screwdriver wrapped in 1-2 turns in electrical tape (to prevent scratching the finish on the faucet) worked lightly into the gap between the faucet body and the handle may do just the trick. Once the screwdriver is in the gap, give is a little turn.
Hope this helps.
