Canon Powershot A2000 IS Digital Camera Questions & Answers
When using the flash is
Friend,
You are using a 10 MP camera. Imagine the size of the picture taken. It is massive. And so would the size in megabytes. To save those many MBs is a time consuming affair. that is what takes 4 to 5 seconds. And during that time the camera can do nothing else.
Do not worry. The camera is fine. Just that you have a very good camera and do not realize it.
As regards the photo being visible for a second only, you can change the settings and have the picture on display for a longer duration. That would be fine as while you are viewing the pic, the camera is busy saving the pic file. You would not feel those 4 to 5 seconds at all.
Display of remaining pictures remains 9999 no matter what size stick is in the camera
If you have a large Gb card and you have set your camera to the lowest resolution, 9999 is the highest the available frame count will go up to. You may well be able to shot more images than 9999 on low resolution. Try setting the camera to the highest resolution and see if the available no. of shots changes. You should also note that the available no. of shots left is only an approximation.
Blurry pictures
Seems like out of focus problem. Could you please elaborate further and possible upload a sample so that we can see where the problem is.
Damaged lens
With just a little luck, the scratch is not too big, and you won't even see it on most pictures. Don't try to remove the scratch, because the front of the lens has a coating you can remove very easily. That will do more damage to the pictures then a scratch. You could contact a Canon repair centre, and ask what it would cost to replace the lens. I think it could set you back more then a new camera will cost, but always worth trying. If you don't see a thing on the pictures, leave everything as it is right now.
Only clean a lens with a lens pen, you can buy in every camera shop. In a camera shop you also can buy other cleaning suff special for lenses. Never use fluids that are not special for use on lenses, or you will also damage the lens.
Memory card locked on canon a2000
SD/SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
Canon Powershot A2000is USB Device Not Recognized
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
Canon power button stuck
I have had this happen before and I put WD-40 on a Q-tip and rubbed it around the button. It took a while but it worked for me.
