You need to purchase a new pump. Attempting to repair this will only cost you time, money, frustration and a new pump in the end.

Check auto stores for a manual that shows the resistor. You can always Google it, too.

Put a vacuum gauge into the front drain plug port with the pump installed and see how much vacuum it draws. If it is low get the pump or lines repaired, if not have a well driller check the well point.

The tank is an air tank, it works like a cushon and accumulator.

Have you reconnceted the pump? If not fill the pipe that goes to the well with water. It should not drain down, there should be a foot valve that prevents the water from running back into the well. So if the foot valve is working it should not take a lot of water to do this.

Pour water into the suction side of the pump until the pump is as full as you can get it, reconnect the pump and start it up. Yes it does need to be primed

These holding tanks are pre charged with air which in turn pressurizes the water. The tank has a bladder and an air valve on top. The pre charge ,over time, loses pressure, and the tank has to be pressurized again.

• The well pump needs to be turned off.
• The water has to be drained from the tank
• Air is put into the tank from the air valve on top of the tank, and is measured with a tire air gauge.
• The pre charge pressure is set to two psi below the pump cut in pressure.
• In other words if your pump kicks on at 30 psi, the pre charge pressure is set at 28 psi. If the pump kicks in at 20 psi, the pre charge is set at 18psi, etc.
• After you pressurize the tank, turn water back on.
• If water comes out of air valve on top of tank, then the bladder is ruptured and you need a new tank.

The wiring information is in the manual. Are you calling the pressure switch a safety switch?

Check for power to the pump then check again after the built in pressure switch. You can get the manual from Flotec at: http://www.flotecpump.com/ResidentialResourcePage_resourcepage_ownersmanuals.aspx If the motor buzzes then there is probably a bad start capacitor.

Jet pumps are inherently noisy, has it always been this loud? Loud is a subjective measurement and varies from person to person.

It may be normal, pumps make noise.

The sand point at the bottom of your well pipe has a screen designed to keep sand out of your water system. This screen has probably failed and that is where the sand is coming from.Unfortunatly this is not an easy fix. The well needs to be pulled and the sand point replaced.

i'm going to suggest that your pump(s) have the same symptoms of cardiac failure and you're bleeding out. the pump is trying to keep the pressure in the system. it works but you're losing your prime is my guess. the pump is initially fine and tries to maintain its pressure but cannot. it runs until its hot or burns out. and then it dies.

No, only a thermal overload. If the unit was hot and has had a chance to cool off it should start. If you have voltage to the motor and it will not even hum or buzz, you need a new motor. The short must have blown the winding open.

how deep is the well can you hear the pump working.or are you able to pull the pump up to inspect it.or can you place ahose down the well to be sure that water is down there,some pumps have a pressure sensor so when theres no water it switches of so as it does not opperate dry,because this will damage the seals in the pump,hoe this helps.

If in the past your system can build-up pressure up to 40 psi even if the supply valve is open and water is being used in your house, then your pump impeller maybe already worn out that's why its pumping capacity was reduced.

could be bad bearings,obstruction in impeller,low voltage,failing capacitor.

sounds like you still might have a leak. but in the short term bleed off 5 pounds of air from your bladder tank and the pump will turn off quicker. Your pressure switch my has a weaken a bit from age which would effect it turning on and off
