Need coleman 5000 watt generator repair/service manual
Hello, Allan -
If you haven't already thought of calling the Coleman Consumer Service number, I recommend you call them to learn if the company can provide a service manual for your model generator:
Call 1-800-835-3278
Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Central Time
Another option is to check with your local public library (maybe the main/headquarters branch) to find out if they hold a service manual for your model of Coleman generator. These days, many public libraries subscribe to electronic databases of all kinds of repair/service manuals for motorized products. Plus, access to the proper database can probably be done from home, through the library home page. Note: You will need a valid library borrower card.
If you don't know the number of your local public library to call, use your favorite search engine and this kind of search strategy:
"location name, state" "public library". Use the quotation marks as shown. Example: "Beavercreek, Ohio" "public library." If you call the public library, ask to speak with a reference/information librarian. Note: Your public tax dollars at work!

I have a Coleman powermate Mod pm0435001 i thank the rotor is bad i don't know for sure how do you test the rotor? to see if it is still good
If it is a self energising rotor, the only way to test them in the field is to test everything else and assume the rotor is defective if the other stuff is ok, fortunately the self energising type are few.
There are a number of testing methods for the conventional rotor and the best way is to use an armature type tester that makes the rotor or armature the secondary winding of a mains transformer and a voltage will be measured across the slip rings.
In the workshop there is the visual inspection - does it look ok? Are the slip rings worn, has it been getting hot, are the shiny bits changing colour and does it smell burned...
Check for winding continuity with an ohmmeter. The actual resistance will vary depending on model and output - great if you have the data for your machine and there is plenty of information online about how to calculate what it should be but I would be content to find continuity but not a short circuit and a resistance perhaps of 10 - 25 ohms and then the insulation test - I would use my hand cranked 500 volt Megger between a slip ring and the shaft/other metalwork.
In the absence of a high voltage insulation tester (dedicated professional gear goes much higher than 500v) General motors recommend using mains voltage (carefully). The hot mains wire goes to the 220 volt light bulb and one insulated probe comes from the bulb and the other probe is the neutral...
The rotor should have a small amount of residual magnetism so running the generator with the brush gear disconnected there should be a few volts generated in the stator - this is usually fed into the rotor via the brushes and the exciter and starts the circular generating process until a peak is reached that is limited either by the rotor speed or a voltage regulator.

The pull start on my son's Coleman CT200u-ex won't pull.
It is possible that while the bike was laying down that oil or fuel entered the cylinder and is now causing a hydro-lock. With the spark plug out, pull the crank a lot of times. Check to see if fluid comes out of the spark plug hole. Also check to see if the plug is wet or damaged. If you can, look into the cylinder with a light.

How much is a used coleman vertex 7500 portable generator.how can i know if its in g ood condition
Midwest USA... A working generator in good running condition should sell for around $0.05 a watt +-, so 7500x0.05= $375. Excellent condition add a penny. NOS add another penny.
A working generator in poor condition 3 cents/watt.
A generator that doesnt work, i.e. engine doesn't run or engine runs but no electrical power is $0 to $50. Repair costs of some generators cost more than a new one.
As for operational status, the typical shop vacuum makes a handy load tester. The shop vac load along with a "Kill A Watt" power monitor will provide an independent voltage and frequency analysis.
Be sure to plug the vacuum into every outlet and if any outlet doesn't work consider the unit non-working.

Where is the avr on my older coleman powermate gen 5000 PM0535202.01
It should be behind end bell housing (opposite engine).
See https://www.jackssmallengines.com/jacks-parts-lookup/manufacturer/powermate/generator/pm/pm0535202.02/generator-parts
I find no available stock. PowerMate does not list the .01 model and the .02 model shows parts as NA.
Check residual magnetism, brushes, diodes and capacitor.
