Stutters
These types of faults can be in the motor, motor drive, controler, or in the velocity sensor (external or internal). If you call the manufacture, they should have statistics on the parts that fail most frequently. They would be the best guide to use for finding out what parts to order. You may have to try a number of parts to find out which one is actualy defective.

I have a freespirit treadmill
ok, this is hard for me to explain because i dont know the proper terms for everything but i will try...so plz bare with me...I will start with the sides that you stand on to take a breather (at least i do)...follow them back to where they end...there should be a hole in each one where a wrench will fit, its prolly an allen key that u have to use (it is for ours), insert the right size tool in the hole and with ur speed set on approx 3.5 little by little turn the key while the belt makes some revolutions, you will know which way to turn it when you watch ur belt move, then basically it is a trial and error thing. when ur belt is back to correct position just stop...ur done!!

I have an L5 error on the display. Belt not
This is a LS or speed sensor error, it can be caused by a belt that is too tight, non lubricated walking belt and or a bad sensor. If the belt does not move at all, Bowflex will tell you to buy a new lower control board. $227 direct from them (Nautilus)

I had the same problem, however the
treadmill
remained in 'safe out' status even when the Safety pull pin was
correctly inserted.
The cause of my fault was that one of the kids
decided to insert a wrist watch into the round hole located on the
control panel's lower cover. In doing so this unplugged the cable connector for the magnetic switch which operates the 'safe out' function,
from the main circuit board. The
repair was quick and easy, i turned the power off, removed the bottom
cover from the control panel and simply plugged the magnetic switch back
into the main circuit board and all was back to normal.

I get an L5 Err message and the treadmill will not move.
sounds to me like your speed sensor fried itself. The speed sensor is on the pulley that turns the belt. If you're under warranty them give bowflex a call. If not under warranty you can still call and order the part. Porbably about $20 for a new sensor.
