Recommend you go ahead and put your raisins in with all the rest of the ingredients in the beginning. Raisins are pretty tough so I don't think they will just puree. Please let me know if this solve the problem.

You're using a fast-acting type of yeast instead of the standard active dry yeast. It's a very common mistake made even more common by the erroneous bread machine recipe writers. Here are the rules concerning bread machines and the yeasts they love the most: Use standard active dry yeast for all your standard-rise bread recipes. For the fast-bake white bread recipes use only fast-acting dry yeast. Fast-bake type mode selections are available on most newer models and the custom recipes provided in their instruction manuals are the only ones you should use. You should never experiment with recipe ingredients and their portions when using the fast-bake mode on any breadmaker. P.S. Always refrigerate your yeast with a close eye on the expiration date. When using grocery-bought bread mixes always substitute the yeast packet provided with fresh active dry yeast. Tip: A packet (or "sachet") of standard active dry yeast contains 2-1/4 teaspoons. Hope this helps.

The dough will not raise no matter how fresh the

Check the type of flour you are using. In the US, if you are using white flour you need to select the type that is labelled "for bread". Also, do not open the lid while the bread is supposed to be rising or you will make it fall. It needs to have a steady temperature while it is rising. Also, make sure that the measured quantities are quite precise. The heavier the ingredients the harder it is to make the dough rise. Adding a little extra water can help.

Hi, A bread machine made 14 years ago was of very high quality. Black & Decker does not make bread machines anymore, but buys them in a foreign country and slaps the Black & Decker name on it. The program may be different, the heating element may have changed, and possibly the paddle size and time of kneading and cycle times could have have changed. You will have to experiment some more ( I know you have, and it's expensive and frustrating) to change settings to try and make it work for you. Talk to your friends who may have a bread machine and try it on theirs, or give me the recipe and I'll try it on my Sunbeam...that would be interesting. Hank

My bread maker is flashing

That probably means your breadmaker is too hot from the last loaf. Breadmachines always need to cool down for about 1/2 before the next loaf is baked.

Hi,
I buy and sell bread machines and have run in to your problem many times. Just log on to you tube and type in,,,,,,,,,,,How to Remove a Stuck Bread Machine Paddle or Kneading Blade"
You will need ...2 hotpads, an old shoelace or string about 3 feet long and 2 old milk jugs, detergent botlles etc......something that will provide weight than you can tie the string to. Tie the string tightly around the post and knot it tight.....the string goes in the little gap between the bottom side of the paddle and the pan. The other end is tied to the milk jugs....watch the video and it will make sense....

My maker is flashing hhh, what's up?

I don't have your manual but often these kind of alerts mean the chamber is either too hot or too cold to begin baking. If you have been baking you need to let your machine cool off with the lid open for about half and hour before starting another loaf...

My machine seems to labor in the kneading cycle,

Hi, Take the pan out of tha machine and see if the paddle spins freely by hand. If yes that's great...if no then the sealed bearing might be sticking and starting to fail. Next check the tension on the belts. The motor and belts are located in the base of the machine. Be sure to unplug machine and ask someone to help you if you are not mechanically inclined. Hank

First time use. set machine to dough and pressed

Hi, Keep the bread pan out of the machine and start a kneading cycle. Look through the lid window and see if the motor shaft is turning. If no...then the belt fell off. If the motor spins, check to make sure the paddle spins freely. Keep pan out and turn paddle by hand. If no then the bearing is frozen. If that's ok..make sure you inserted the pan correctly into machine. If everything checks out then it's a faulty machine. Before you do anything send it out for warranty service. Usually it's warranted for a year. Hank

Rotating shaft is jammed (won't move paddle)

Not quite sure what you mean about rotating shaft, but if you take the bread pan out of the machine and try to turn the paddle by hand and it doesn't move, then the sealed bearing in the bread pan is jammed or broken. Try filling it up with warm water and soaking it for a while. If it doesn't budge after a few tries then the bearing is broken and a new bread pan is needed. If on the other hand it does move, keep the pan out and start a kneading cycle. Look through the lid window and check to see if the motor shaft is turning. If not then the belt inside the machine is snapped, or fell off, or the motor is broken. Good Luck...Hank
